Praise:
Please join us in thanking God for the addition of our newest member body, the Zomi Baptist Convention of Myanmar, who were approved for membership in July at the 2019 BWA Annual Gathering in Nassau, The Bahamas.

We also give thanks for a longstanding relationship with the Myanmar Baptist Convention, the Self-Supporting Kayin Baptist Mission Society, and for the faithful witness of all the Baptist churches within Myanmar as they advocate with others for greater justice and religious freedom for all.
Prayer:
On August 14, General Secretary Elijah Brown sent a letter to officials at the United Nations and the United States government to raise awareness regarding the safety of two pastors from Myanmar who had voiced concerns about their government. Later in the week, we thankfully received confirmation that both pastors arrived safely in Yangon with the promise that officials would continue to monitor the situation. Join us in asking God for continued safety for these pastors and other ministry leaders as they serve amidst challenging circumstances.

We also pray for minority ethnic and religious groups that continue to experience discrimination, persecution, or even genocide (such as the Rohingyas), and for greater interfaith understanding and tolerance for ethnic and religious diversity.

Join us in thanking God for the four member bodies who served together as wonderful hosts for the 2017 BWA Annual Gathering in Bangkok, Thailand.
Prayer:
Join us in prayer for those victimized by sex tourism and exploitation and those who perpetuate such acts.
The Baptist World Alliance, along with the global Baptist family and many others around the world, observed #RedWednesday on November 27.

The BWA office in Falls Church, Virginia, USA, was lit in red and team members wore red to express our commitment and call for full religious freedom for all people of all faiths.

A Prayer from Myanmar

Give us this day our daily bread. 
All good gifts of the earth come from your generous hands, God. 
Yet, this abundance is not shared equally among us. 
While some are satisfied, others are starving. 
Women often become the victims of exploitation  
because they are desperate to feed and care for their children. 
If only we would be mindful that each and every one of us must pray: 
Give us this day our daily bread.
