Cambodia  1 BWA Member Body Cambodia Baptist Union 527 Churches 22,531 Members More than 150 women gathered in Kampong Tom in March 2018 for an evangelistic celebration of International Women's Month. ‌

Praise: We give thanks for God's provision for his people in Cambodia and for the significant spread of the Gospel over the last three decades, which has led to many people opening their hearts to trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Prayer: Pray for Baptist leaders as they navigate new potential laws that would impact Christians and the ability to evangelize. Pray for religious freedom to be preserved and for the law to not pass so that Gospel witness is not impacted.

Praise: We give thanks for those ministering in Baptist churches throughout the country and sharing Gospel witness in their communities. Prayer: Pray for climate and weather safety during the often challenging storm season. Also pray for continued recovery for the people and economy as they face ongoing challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tornadoes Hit United States More than 80 are feared dead after devastating tornadoes hit central and southern United States late Friday and early Saturday. More than 30 tornadoes were reported with reach across more than 250 miles and six states. Please join us in prayer for recovery efforts as workers scramble to find survivors, for immediate relief efforts for the many who have lost homes, and for comfort for those mourning loved ones tragically killed in the storms.

Advocating at the United Nations The Baptist World Alliance team continues to advocate on behalf of those in Myanmar who face the daily challenges of an ongoing military coup and for others living in difficult contexts across the globe. Last week Baptist World Aid Director Marsha Scipio, BWA United Nations Representative Scott Stearman, and leaders from American Baptist Churches USA met with United Nations leaders in New York, USA. Listed below are specific needs you can help respond to through prayer and giving: Fair COVID-19 vaccine distribution in developing countries Protection of Human Rights Defenders serving in violent areas For the people of Myanmar to receive help and for the military to halt their attacks and seek peace Refugees in South Sudan Uyghurs in East Turkestan For the numerous others who fight for those in power to see their humanity Help Us Continue to Respond to Needs Around the World

The Lord Has Been with Me After intense pain, I was admitted to the hospital this week for an emergent surgery to address undiagnosed chronic appendicitis. Many people who have unaddressed appendix flares die, so I can say with thankfulness, the Lord has graciously sustained me. I am grateful to my wife Amy, our church family at Columbia Baptist Church, and the Baptist World Alliance team. For the next few weeks. I will focus on rest and recovery. To you and the many in the global Baptist family who regularly pray for us, I am here in no small part because of your prayers that have covered us over these years. I am reminded once again that the hand of the Lord is with us wherever we go.

A Prayer from Vietnam O We remember, O Lord, those who suffer from any kind of discrimination, your children, and our brothers and sisters, who are humiliated and oppressed. We pray for those who are denied fundamental human rights, for those who are imprisoned, and especially those who are tortured.
