In December 2019, more than 400 coats were gathered and prepared for distribution in Damascus using funds from a BWA grant.
Praise:
Please join us in thanking God for the ministry of the churches in this region that are serving faithfully in the face of challenging circumstances. 

Prayer:
Join us in prayer for the ministry of General Secretary Daas Haddad as he provides leadership for the convention's continued response to COVID-19.
Iraq
Praise:
We give thanks for the faithful ministry of our two Baptist churches in Iraq.
Prayer:
Pray for peace and greater stability for all citizens.
Also, join us in prayer this week for the people of Iran.
We continue to stand in prayer with the people of Croatia in the wake of the devastating earthquake on December 29. Željko Mraz, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Croatia (BUC), provided the following prayer request update.

  • Please pray for all people who have been afflicted by this catastrophe. 
  • The ground is still shaking. Since the most devastating earthquake, we have had more than 370 smaller ones. Pray that the ground will calm and normal life will come back soon.
  • People are still afraid and anxious. In Petrinja, almost all schools are destroyed. Pray that we can offer spiritual help for these impacted children and young people.
  • Pray for the elderly living in rural and distant areas who were neglected before the earthquake and now their houses are destroyed.
  • Pray that our ministry will continue and we will be the witness of Christ's love for everyone.

Prayer of Praise

Christ has been revealed among us.
He who is God is here seated.
The voice of peace has sounded.
The command for the Holy greeting has been given.
The church has become one soul.
The kiss has been given as a full bond.
The adversity has been removed,
and love has been spread among us all.
Now, O you ministers, raising your voice,
give praise in unison,
to the united Godhead
to whom the Seraphim give praise.
