Although this region is often known for its deserts, Mount Toukbal (located in Morocco) is the highest mountain in North Africa and often covered in snow.

This week the BWA issued a statement in support of equitable global access to COVID-19 vaccinations. We invite you to read an excerpt of the statement below and join us in responding.

We acknowledge the solidarity shared by the millions of Baptists and non-Baptists alike in the face of the suffering caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic. As we move into 2021, we also recognize our responsibility to participate in the solution to this crisis. We do so by: 
  • Calling for the cooperation of governments to support systems of coordinated mass vaccination and enhance access to vaccinations through aid and economic innovations;
  • Urging Baptists globally to participate in enabling global vaccination;
  • Repudiating unhelpful narratives associated with mass vaccination and asking Baptists and all people of goodwill to do so as well; and
  • Issuing a clarion call for just access to available COVID-19 vaccines globally including six specific steps of justice necessary for equitable global access and a shared solidarity in addressing a global pandemic.
I am excited to welcome Marsha Scipio to the BWA Team as the Director of Baptist World Aid (BWAid). Would you please join me in praying for Marsha as she steps into this leadership role at such an important time in our world? She has shared the following specific requests:

  • For God’s wisdom
  • For discernment in building the right strategic relationships to move BWAid forward at this crucial time
  • To always "see" those who need the support of BWAid
  • For collaborative vision of how BWAid intersects with the work of the larger BWA family

Prayers on The Road of Life

God of life, there are days
when the burdens we carry are heavy on our shoulders and weigh us down,
when the road seems dreary and endless, the skies grey and threatening,
when our lives have no music in them,
our hearts lonely,
our souls losing their courage.
Flood the path with light.
Turn our eyes to where the skies are full of promise;
tune our hearts to brave music;
give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age.
So quicken our spirits
that we may be able to encourage the souls of all,
who journey with us on the road of life,
to your honour and glory.
