"Atmospheric River" Causes Flooding in Canada
and Northern United States

A weather phenomenon called an "atmospheric river" has occurred in southern British Columbia and northern Washington state with precipitation falling to such a level (up to 12 inches/300mm in 24 hours) so as to create overwhelming flood conditions. The rainfall and the flooding have broken all historical records and created catastrophic mudslides. Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) is cut off by rail or highway from the rest of the country. Untold agricultural devastation will further disrupt the region's food security and increase pressure on the region's already strained supply chain. Jeremy Bell, General Secretary of North American Baptist Fellowship, asks Baptists worldwide to join him in prayer for those who are currently cut off from access to homes and for those who will need to assess and recover from the damage done in the weeks ahead.
Pray for Ethiopia

Pastor Beletew Kebede, General Secretary of Ethiopian Addis Kidan Baptist Church, seeks our prayers for the challenges faced by tens of thousands of Ethiopians who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict in the Tigray region. Fuel and food are scarce and safety is threatened. Please pray for the Lord's protection and provision and for the pastors seeking to minister within this challenging context.
Stand Against Domestic Violence Initiative Lunch
Tuesday, November 23, 8 am EST (Washington DC Time)
Did you know 18% of women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner in the past 12 months? The Baptist World Alliance and Baptist World Alliance Women believe this breaks the heart of God, and it breaks our hearts as well.

In response, we have created an online resource hub to inform and equip individuals, churches, and communities to stand together against domestic violence. Baptists worldwide are invited to join us as we gather for a virtual launch of this initiative.

This week we enter a season of gratefulness. It is my hope and prayer that we would spend this week in gratitude for our families, one another, and the goodness of the Lord. I stand in thankfulness for each of you, our global Baptist family, and the impact we are making together for Christ.

This past week was spent connecting with partners and fellow Baptist leaders at the Texas Baptist Annual Meeting. The event included the celebration of David Hardage's 10th Anniversary as the Executive Director and spending time with Randel Everett, BWA Vice President Albert Reyes, and many other friends.
A Prayer from the Philippines

Lord, make us realize that our Christianity is like a rice field: when it is
newly planted the paddies are prominent, but as the plants take root and grow taller, these divided paddies gradually vanish, and soon there appears only one vast continuous field. So give us roots that love, and help us grow in Christian fellowship and service, that your will be done in our lives, through our Saviour, your Son, Jesus Christ.
