Moriah Refugee Camp
Please join us in prayer for the Moriah refugee camp on the island of Lesbos, Greece, where violent attacks from outside groups and a huge fire have destroyed much of the camp. The Greek Government has declared a State of Emergency.

The European Baptist Federation (EBF) has been in contact with All4Aid, our humanitarian aid partner working in the camp. All4Aid leadership has shared that their team is safe, but thousands of refugees have lost their makeshift homes and tents and the situation is critical. Many are now left without access to food, water, and shelter. Pray for protection and provision for All4Aid as they continue to respond in the days and weeks to come.

Hurricane Laura
Many residents of southwest Louisiana (USA) sustained significant damage as a result of Hurricane Laura. Thousands are still without power. Please join us for prayer for those impacted. Join us also in praying specifically for BWA Executive Committee Member Samuel Tolbert as he leads during this difficult time. Tolbert is the President of the North American Baptist Fellowship (NABF), President of the National Baptist Convention of America International, Inc., and Pastor of Greater Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The church is located at the epicenter of the damage and is actively working to minister to the surrounding community.

Pacific Northwest Wildfires
Wildfires continue to rage throughout the states of California and Oregon along the Pacific Northwest of the USA. More than 900,000 acres have burned, and more than 500,000 people are under some level of evacuation or pre-evacuation orders. Please join us in prayer for those impacted, for rain to slow the spread of the fire, and for the firefighters and emergency personnel working sacrificially in this challenging environment.

If you wish to support aid and relief responses in these areas, please give online today.
This year we celebrate the centennial year of Baptist World Aid (BWAid). We are prayerfully entering the next phase of growth for this ministry and are accepting applications for the Director of BWAid. This will be an exciting opportunity to build upon a 100-year legacy in new ways. Would you pray for this process and would you share this opportunity?
A Prayer from Argentina

O God, Lord of the wind and the sea,
of the mountains and the valleys,
of the world and of the church:
in the midst of fear and insecurity
give us trust and hope in you.

We live in a world
where the gales of power
blow strong enough to shake life itself,
where from the arrogant and the interests of the powerful
roll the waves of injustice and violence.

We pray for those suffering
because of their poverty, their ignorance,
their limitations,
because of their colour or status, social or sexual.
We think of your church sailing on a sea
where the waves of racism, militarism, sexism
and economic marginalization hurt human life.

Take care of your church and put in it
a sincere love for those who suffer,
a clear vision of your will,
healing, pastoral words for the needy,
and a valiant, prophetic proclamation
against those who create violence and pain.

O God, rebuke the uncontrolled wind of terrorism and war.
Turn it towards peace and human development
so that in place of lies, truth is strengthened,
in place of weapons, there are schools for all children,
in place of luxury, the world adorns itself
with bread for the hungry
and life blossoms everywhere.

O God, Lord of the wind and the sea,
may your strong mercy calm the whole earth.
In the name of Jesus Christ.
