SUPREME COURT OF APPEALS AND
INTERMEDIATE COURT OF APPEALS
ELECTRONIC FILING
The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2022, File & ServeXpress will be the eFiling and eService provider for all filings into the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the new Intermediate Court of Appeals of West Virginia. Electronic filing will be mandatory for filing in the Supreme Court of Appeals and Intermediate Court of Appeals for all attorney filers.

All eFilers are encouraged to attend an eFiling training session prior to the July 1st launch date. Please register for an upcoming training webinar with one of File & ServeXpress’s eFiling experts, click here to register and view the webinar schedule.

Wood County Going Live in the WV CourtPLUS/E-File System
 
The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia is pleased to announce that Wood County will become the next Active County in the WV E-File / CourtPLUS system on June 21, 2022. Electronic filing in an Active County is mandatory per Trial Court Rule 15A. Attorneys and staff are invited to view the recorded training seminar via the link below. Attorneys will be granted 1 CLE credit, including 1.0 Ethics/Office Management credit upon completion of the online course. Please Note: Training sessions completed via the recorded seminar are Online/Audio Visual (Pre-Recorded) CLE credit only. This training session is not eligible for Live Attendance CLE credit.

Legal Aid of West Virginia Needs Your Input 
Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) is embarking on an effort to redesign our pro bono program to better meet the needs of low-income West Virginians. To this end, we are seeking input from ALL West Virginian attorneys (even if you currently do not engage in pro bono). We ask that you take this 15-minute survey by Saturday, June 25, 2022. Thank you in advance, as your feedback is invaluable to this process!
Minority Lawyers Committee
The Minority Lawyers Committee is eager to welcome new members! You do not need to consider yourself a racial or ethnic minority to join the committee. However, you do need to have an interest in issues that affect minority lawyers. To join, please email Michelle Storage at michelle.storage@wvsto.com. The next Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28 at noon.

THE JUNE 30, 2022 CLE DEADLINE IS APPROACHING! 
Here is What You Need to Know
 
The reporting period for 2020-2022 ends on June 30, 2022. There will be NO extensions of the CLE reporting period. Under the current suspension process, all CLE credits must be completed AND reported on your CLE transcript by July 31, 2022 to avoid penalty. The late fee for reporting CLE credits has been increased to $200. There is an additional $200 reinstatement fee if you are suspended for CLE non-compliance. The suspension process will begin promptly after all required notices are sent to non-compliant attorneys. All CLE credits for this reporting period may be completed by an on-line means if necessary.
