The Death of Barbara Waddell and Funeral Service
| |
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Waddell, a long-time member of Trinity. She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon, November 14, 2024, at the age 89 at the Hospice of Hamilton, surrounded by her family.
Click Here to read Barb's obituary.
The funeral service for Barb will be incorporated into the 9:30 AM worship service at Trinity this Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Please keep Barb's husband, Clyde, and her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Bryan "Mark" Kile, and the rest of Barb's family in your prayers.
Condolences can be sent to Clyde Waddell and to Laurie and Mark Kile at 701 Hermay Drive, Hamilton OH 45013.
Into your hands, O merciful Saviour, we commend your servant Barbara. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding, deal graciously with Barbara's family, and especially Clyde, Laurie and Brian, in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thank you for your faithfulness in compassion and prayer.
(Prayers from The Book of Common Prayer, 465 and 494.)

Marge and Dave Belew Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 23rd at 1:00 PM
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Belew, a very long-time member of Trinity and our church choir, a talented pianist, and also a philanthropist and volunteer over the years for many things throughout the City of Hamilton. Dave died peacefully at the Hospice of Hamilton at the age of 93 on Saturday morning, October 5, 2024, with his family at his side.
A celebration of life for both Dave and his wife Marge, who died on December 30, 2023, will be held at Trinity on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM, immediately followed by a reception at the Fitton Center.
Click here to read Dave's obituary and click here to read Marge's obituary.
Please keep Marge and Dave's daughter, Sally Streeter, and the rest of their family in your prayers. Condolences can be sent to Sally and Charles Streeter at 22011 Nottingham Dr, Beverly Hills, MI 48025.
Into your hands, O merciful Saviour, we commend your servant David. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding, deal graciously with David's family, and especially his daughter, Sally, in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Giving Tree -
Available Beginning Sunday, November 24th
The Giving Tree will be in the Memorial Room beginning Sunday, November 24th. This year we will be providing gifts for several community members in need.
There will be several tags available on the tree on November 24th, in time for Black Friday shopping, with additional tags added the following week as we finish collecting gift information.
Each tag will have a description of the gift item, plus a number that corresponds to the master list of gift recipients (to keep the recipients' information private).
To participate:
- Take a tag(s) from the tree.
- There will be a tracking sheet on the table next to the tree. Write your name and phone number next to the corresponding number listed on the tag(s) so we know who is purchasing that item.
- Purchase the item listed on the tag(s).
- Wrap the gift.
- Lightly attach the tag to the gift, so we know which number is assigned to it when you return it.
- Return the gift(s) to the church no later than Sunday, December 22nd.
If you have any questions, or you would like to participate but can't make it to church and would like a tag selected for you, please contact the parish office at trinitychurchhamilton@gmail.com or 513-896-6755.
Thank you for helping those in need!

Survey from the Diocese of Southern Ohio Task Force on Regional Structures
Bishop White has appointed a task force to look at the possibility of regathering people by region within the Diocese of Southern Ohio. This is one of many ways that are being explored to help build connections between and among the congregations of the diocese.
As a part of this work, the task force wants to hear from as many people as possible from all parts of the diocese about what kinds of connections would benefit you and your congregation.
Please take a few minutes and respond to this short survey. Your input is really important.
This is one of several ways that the task force is gathering thoughts, ideas and opinions. The task force expects to have a recommendation for the bishop by the beginning of Lent.
Members of the Task Force on Regional Structures:
Carol Allen - Christ Church, Ironton
Canon Jon Boss - Ascension & Holy Trinity, Wyoming
The Rev. Mary Carson - St. James, Westwood
Ericka Clifton - St. Philip, Columbus
Lauren Cuff Faller - St. Christopher’s, Fairborn
The Rev. Benjamin Speare-Hardy - St. Margaret’s, Trotwood
Wendel Mulford - St. Paul’s, Chillicothe
The Very Rev. Owen Thompson - Christ Church Cathedral
The Rev. William Sangrey - St. George’s, Dayton
The Rev. Gene Sheppard - St. Luke’s, Marietta
The Rev. Vicki Zust - St. Mark’s, Columbus (Chair)

Almoner's Fund - Thanksgiving and Christmas Gift Cards for Those in Need
Our tradition at Trinity is to share a bit more at Thanksgiving and Christmas by giving gift cards to those in need.
We are hoping to raise $1,200 to provide gift cards to six persons, most of whom live on disability incomes of $800 to $1,200 a month.
Almoner's Fund donations over the next several weeks will directly support the purchase of the cards. Those who receive these gifts are extremely grateful.
How to donate:
- Write a check payable to Trinity Episcopal Church and put "Almoner’s Fund" in the memo line,
-
Use Trinity's online giving link and select Almoner's Fund
- or put loose cash in the offering plate on Sunday, 12/1.
There will be special Almoner's Fund envelopes in the pews at the in-person worship services for the next few weeks.
All loose cash in the offering plates on Sunday, December 1st will also go towards the Almoner's Fund.
Thank you for your generosity!
