4th Grade Girls Dress Code Update
The dress code states that girls in fourth grade must wear a jumper or pants. After parent feedback, the faculty has decided to allow girls in fourth grade to wear a skirt or a jumper. On days that the school celebrates mass, students who decide to wear a skirt must wear tights with their skirt as part of the mass dress code.

Pennies for Harvey
Our Saint Bernadette students feel called to reach out to those that were affected by the devastation of hurricane Harvey. The Student Council organized a Penny War to assist in the aid for those who have lost so much.

Each classroom will have bucket for collecting coins or dollar bills. The value of any  pennies collected by a classroom will count positively toward that classroom's point total, while the value of other coins or dollar bills will be subtracted. Our students will be competing between classrooms. One will be a winner chosen between the K-3, 4-5, and 6-8 homerooms.

All proceeds will be forwarded to the Arch Diocese of Galveston who have organized a relief effort between church communities. Click on the link for more information.

The event ended with the kids on the field for a Candy Drop . All families had a great time!

Our annual Magazine Fundraiser begins on Tuesday, September 5th. Packets will be coming home with the youngest child this week. So many titles to choose from ...something for everyone! There will be numerous prize incentives and best of all, funds raised will benefit St. Bernadette School!
Fruits of their Labor
The St. Bernadette School Garden had a successful summer once again.  Thanks to the hard work of our garden heads, the McElvany Family and all of the students involved in God’s Garden Club and the parents Garden Club, the summer yielded a nice harvest.

Several families in the garden club took turns once again looking after the garden this summer.  It is a fabulous time! The zucchini, basil, tomatoes, potatoes and carrots seemed to do the best. The peppers and beans seem to be a deer favorite. The rabbits and insects seemed to appreciate the vegetables too!  The Bulldog Cafe will benefit from the rest of the harvest . The students seem to enjoy knowing that their lunch came straight from their own school garden!
Join Us for a Jumping Good Time
The St. Bernadette PTU will once again sponsor a Sky Zone event on Friday, October 6th. All St. Bernadette families and friends are welcome! Proceeds go to St. Bernadette PTU. Click on the flyer for more information. A registration form will also go home today with the youngest child. Questions? Contact Kathy Hill: We hope to see you all there!
Ready, Set, Run!
Our St. Bernadette Little Dogs (K-2) have been so busy running in the metro parks these past few weeks. Each student is running a mile at their own pace without too many stops! Please send them well wishes as they gear up for their first cross country meet, this Wednesday, September 6th in Brecksville! Thank you to the coaches and parents for all your hard work in preparing these youngsters to become the future runners of tomorrow. We invite you to come on out and cheer our Little Dogs on to victory! Go Bulldogs!
Kindergarten Friends Become Family
Our new Kindergarten students enjoyed a few special days over the summer to play and have fun with each other. It was a lovely opportunity for the parents and the kids to get to know each other and it made the transition to kindergarten that much easier, because the kids saw some familiar faces on the first day of school. The family picnic, in particular, allowed for both parents and children to relax, exchange stories, and enjoy the beautiful day! Thank you to our Kindergarten Committee, Mrs. Kelley and Mrs. Morris for organizing these wonderful events. Welcome newbies!
