The Hour of Code has come to
T/E Middle School!

The Hour of Code is a global movement encouraging millions of students to engage in at least one hour of coding through the use of apps and/or websites. It occurs in the month of December to coincide with Computer Science Education Week, December 4-10.

T/E Middle School students will have the option to code in the Swift Playgrounds environment. Swift is a powerful programming language developed by Apple. The Swift Playgrounds app provides beginner through intermediate users coding puzzles and challenges appropriate to their interest and experience. For our expert coders, coding activities and curriculum will be explored at https://code.org/learn .

When to Keep Your Child Home
There may be times when you're not sure it is necessary to keep your child home from school. Here are some symptoms that may mean your child is sick and should stay home.
  • Fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or above)
  • Chills
  • Running or inflamed eyes or nose
  • Rash
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Sore throat
  • Enlarged glands
  • Excessive coughing
A child should remain at home at least 24 hours with no fever, diarrhea, or vomiting following an illness. Please notify the school that your child will be absent and send a note stating the dates and reason for absence.
By following these guidelines, you will protect not only the health of your child, but the health of his classmates and school staff as well!
