Report Cards Coming Home Today
First trimester report cards were sent home with students today. Please sign and return to teachers in the envelope provided.

I really enjoyed reading through all of our students' report cards and making comments on each of them. It is great to read about the successes and growth of our students throughout the year. I hope everyone is able to read my writing. My handwriting isn't what it was in 5th grade when Mr. Peters recognized me for having the 3rd best penmanship in his class.
HCA Event at Barnes and Noble December 8

The PTO Barnes & Noble Central Park Fundraiser is this Sunday, December 8, 2019, 12 - 5 pm. Stop by to see the HCA Chorus perform at noon, our talented Puppeteer Lise Schmiegel at 1 pm, the awesome Science Squad at 3 pm, Irish Dance performing at 4 pm, and the many HCA artistic talents on display.

Don't forget to give Voucher 12557542 for all purchases at the store, cafe, or pre-ordering for hold/pickup in store.  Invite your friends and family to join you for a coffee at the cafe, see your children perform, and do a little shopping!

Our Holy Cross Academy families are amazing. We appreciate the support you provide to the school throughout the year. If you can offer help as a greeter, wrapper, or overseeing the craft for this event, please visit the signup link:

A Bet is a Bet!
Congratulations to Mrs. Cook's and Mrs. Wiley's classes on completing their reading goals (200 books read by Mrs. Cook's class and 300 books read by Mrs. Wiley's class). I made a wager with the classes that I would sleep on the roof and dye my hair purple if they met heir goals. This stunt was inspired by the book Miss Malarkey Leaves No Reader Behind . I am very proud of our young readers.

Holy Cross Academy's roof is actually not that bad. The wifi signal is strong and I have been fairly productive keeping up with emails. This E-blast was partially authored from my new, rooftop office.

Time for a Calendar Check
Please make sure to check the calendar at the bottom of this message for upcoming events. December is a busy month and I would hate for anyone to miss one of their child's events.
Giving Tree Ceremony & 8th Grade Nativity
It is time for our Advent Giving Tree! Each year, before Christmas, we have a beautiful Giving Tree Ceremony and 8th grade Nativity (Dec. 12 at 8:30am). Each child brings his/her gift forward and places it around the tree. These gifts are given to Catholic Charities’ Baby Closet, Mary’s Shelter and Birthright. The number of families and children that Catholic Charities, Birthright and Mary’s Shelter support has been growing steadily. We ask each child in the school to bring in at least one item to help our precious little friends. These class designations are only suggestions. Any and all donations are gratefully accepted. Parents are invited to attend this moving presentation.

Regular dress down day guidelines apply. Christmas hats and accessories will also be encouraged that day.

With so many giving initiatives under way, there is no charge or collection for this dress down day. Thank you so much for the generosity of our Holy Cross Academy families throughout the year.
