Alexis Barr, Alexander Bell, Alonzo Ortiz, and Saniya Singh were all heralded by the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) Tuesday afternoon as part of its contingent of Rising Stars of Indiana Class of 2024.

“Lexi, Alex, Alonzo, and Saniya highly deserve this honor. I’m proud the IASP recognizes what so many of us here at Marquette Catholic High School witness on a daily basis. They each possess strong work ethics and are outstanding ambassadors of our school.” Marquette principal Casey Martin stated.

Barr, a three-year letter-winner on the girls golf team, has earned a 4.142 cumulative grade-point average. Bell, a two-year starter on the Blazer baseball team, sports a 4.455 GPA. Ortiz possesses a 3.510 grade-point average. In addition to owning a 4.571 cumulative GPA, Singh has represented Marquette on the basketball court and softball diamond.

The quartet projects to earn 97 combined dual credits at the conclusion of this fall semester.

Each Indiana high school was invited to nominate up to four current juniors based on academic achievement. Rising Stars of Indiana is recognizing students for the seventh time as a complement to the Indiana Academic All Stars program for high school seniors, now in its 37th year.
