City Announcements
Last week I introduced one more idea designed to remind drivers of the importance of driving safely on neighborhood streets.  They are  18" x 24" signs, red on one side and yellow on the other.  Let me know if you'd like one for your yard.

If you have been experiencing neighborhood related traffic issues, please feel free to contact our Traffic Mitigation team  HERE.

Stay informed.
  • There are many ways SRP customers can stay informed about outages in their area:
  • Sign up for free outage alerts. We'll text or email customers if the power goes out in their neighborhood and keep them informed about outage causes, estimated restoration times and when power is restored.
  • Use the SRP Power mobile app to report an outage, or use the interactive outage map to see areas without power.
  • Bookmark the SRP outage map to check for outage updates and details.
  • Follow SRP on Twitter and Facebook to get live updates during big storms.
Stay safe.
  • If an outage does occur, stay calm and follow these tips:
  • If you see a downed power line, stay at least 100 feet away . Electricity can travel through the ground.
  • DO NOT touch downed power lines or try to move them.
  • Call 911 to report the locations of downed power lines.
Call us if you have any questions.
If customers ever lose power or have questions, they should call SRP at (602) 236-8888. Thank you for the work you do in serving our customers and your community.

From Your Councilmember
Council is in recess until mid-August and I am enjoying some time away in cooler weather this weekend.

Monsoons are right around the corner and the City of Glendale and SRP are working to make sure all residents are safe during this storm season. Please see the SRP section of my newsletter on how to get tips and alerts.  Below is a video of our Fire Chief, Chief Garrison talking about how Glendale is working to ensure all residents have the necessary tools to have a safe monsoon season.

Speaking of safety, a dozen or so Barrel residents have already received their "Drive Like Your Kids Live Here" yard signs.  See below on how you can get yours as well.

Have a Safe, yet Fun Weekend!

Recycling Tip...Plastic Bags!

Plastic bags wrap themselves around the conveyor belt rollers and damage processing equipment. Due to these processing problems and the dirty/contaminated condition of plastic bags in a commingled program, they are not recyclable in Glendale's program. Many grocery stores have installed plastic bag recycling programs. Utilize these programs and DO NOT place plastic bags in your recycling container.
