Construction underway at Prairie, Station and Grove
Construction is underway at BMS-Prairie, BMS-Station and Grove Avenue Elementary as part of the Build 220 projects! The mobile classrooms at both middle schools were removed last month, in order to begin construction of a classroom addition on each campus. Construction is also underway at Grove on a new front entrance vestibule, which will provide a more secure entrance to the building. Construction of a new classroom addition at Grove will also get underway in August, in order to replace the current mobile classrooms on that campus.

As much work as possible is being done over the summer in order to minimize disruptions during the school year. Construction at both middle schools is expected to last through November 2022. Construction at Grove Avenue Elementary is expected to last through December 2022. Project work across all D220 schools is expected to last through 2025.

BHS student headed to Olympics in Tokyo
Incoming BHS senior Gergana Petkova will be heading to Tokyo later this month to be an Olympic Reserve for the USA Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. Rhythmic gymnastics is an event in which gymnasts perform on a floor with a rope, hoop, ball, clubs or ribbon accompanied by music, in individual or group events. As an Olympic Reserve, Gergana will be available to compete if one of the five gymnasts in the group event is unable to compete. Click here to learn more about the gymnast.
Home internet security summer break reminder
Summer is a good time to review your home internet security plan and discuss responsible tech use with your student. With a break from school, students are likely to spend more unsupervised time using their iPad. If you’ve not already done so, using the iPad’s Screen Time feature to establish web content restrictions, such as limiting adult content, is a great place to start. Click here to view instructions for setting up content restrictions using screen time.
