Michael Manheim, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. He was 80 years old.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Manheim; his children Jeff Manheim (Lisa), Marc Manheim (Carolyn), and Jill Goldberger (Aaron); and his cherished grandchildren Josh, Caleb, Rachel, and Oz Manheim; Ashley and Luke Manheim; and Jenna and Nate Goldberger. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Emmet Manheim, z’l.
Born with a sharp mind and an unwavering sense of justice, Michael attended Cornell University for his undergraduate degree before earning his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. He began his distinguished legal career practicing law in Syracuse, New York, before moving to Florida, where he served as a respected administrative law judge in Miami. His integrity, compassion, and dedication to fairness left a lasting mark on the legal community and the many lives he touched. He also served our country as an army JAG veteran.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was a man who embraced life’s joys. He loved the challenge and camaraderie of a round of golf, the simple pleasure of a perfectly cooked steak, and, most of all, time spent with his family. His warmth, humor, and wisdom made every gathering brighter.
He will be remembered always for his deep love for his family, his commitment to his work, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of others.
A private family service will be held on Friday. A Kiddush lunch will be held on September 20 at Temple Beth El in Michael’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Emmet Manheim Scholarship Fund at Camp Tevya or the Emmet’s Playground Fund here at Temple Beth El.
