Seeking Volunteer Board Members: Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers
|
|
Never has the need for trail and wetlands restoration and fire mitigation been more apparent than during the pandemic where use of our region’s popular trails has doubled - or tripled - and climate change has ravaged public lands.
More people and pets using hiking and biking trails combined with wildfires and Colorado’s ‘summer monsoons’ have accelerated the need for stewardship. Founded in 1995, Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV) is the leading stewardship organization across four Colorado counties in the Roaring Fork, Crystal River, and Middle Colorado watersheds. Through our mission of community-powered
stewardship of public lands, RFOV empowers people with the tools and ethic to care for and connect with the natural world, while helping land managers build healthy and resilient landscapes.
RFOV is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis for up to three Board seats with 3-year terms commencing in January 2023. Board Members attend 6-8 meetings per year, volunteer for restoration projects, and contribute financially to the organization. If interested, please visit rfov.org/careers to complete an application. Interviews of candidates will occur in November/December. Email info@rfov.org for information about board roles and responsibilities.
