The Basalt Pan & Fork Lemonade Day parade traveled through downtown at about 11 a.m. on Saturday past nearly a dozen lemonade stands brightly decorated by Basalt's young entrepreneurs. There was traditional lemonade, raspberry lemonade, frozen and slushy, and lemonade with cherries rimmed with sugar - served by the most adorable children all serious about their task and service.

Music piped out from every nook and cranny like a changing kaleidoscope as we walked through town - cuban jazz, horns, rock and roll and a pleasant mix of all.

New Businesses In Basalt: 2 in Historic Downtown & 2 in Willits Town Center
Get Ready for a Feast of Ribbon Cuttings

Just this past week, we've been working with four new businesses recently opening or about to open in Basalt - two in Historic Downtown and two in Willits Town Center. We're supporting Grand Openings and planning Ribbon Cuttings as fast as we can starting next Friday with Tania Dibb's Studio & Big Sky Gallery scheduled to coincide with the bi-monthly downtown ArtWalks. There's word of yet another business to open in the center of downtown and on-going "buzz" up Midland Avenue. Stay tuned for more information.

TreeFarmTREE FARM DEVELOPMENT REVIEW
Public Hearing ~ Thursday, July 2, 2015, 4:00 p.m.
El Jebel Community Center, 0020 Eagle County Drive

The Roaring Fork Regional Planning Commission will continue their review of the Tree Farm Planned Unit Development (PUD) preliminary plan today at the El Jebel Community Center. The meeting is open to the public and will include an overview of the Tree Farm PUD Guide, discussion on the project's conformance with relevant master planning documents, and a review of the Tree Farm Market Analysis and Fiscal Impact Study.

Covering 71 privately-owned acres across from Willits Town Center, the development proposal describes up to 400 residential units, approximately 135,000 s.f. of commercial, office, lodging and/or light industrial space, plus 42 acres of active and passive open space. The property will continue to be used for tree farm and nursery options. If approved, the developers - long-time mid-valley resident Ace Lane and his company Woody Ventures LLC - project a build-out over 15 to 20 years depending on demand.

For more information and ongoing updates, visit the Eagle County Planning Department's website and link to the documents under "PDP-4986 The Tree Farm PUD."
TwoRiversTWO RIVERS ROAD GREENWAY MASTER PLAN
Open House ~ Monday, July 6, 2015, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

The Town of Basalt is hosting an Open House on the Two Rivers Road Greenway Master Plan next Monday in the Basalt Regional Library Community Room.

The Master Plan, presented in 2007, evaluated options for conceptual design of the key Basalt corridor from Highway 82 to Midland Avenue which passes by the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan rivers. The original plan identified strategic and conceptual options to enhance the recreational use within the corridor and transform it into a "signature gateway" to Basalt.

The event is open to the public.

The FISHING REPORT

On The Fly:
Still plenty of places to go

It should be of no surprise to any valley local or visiting tourist that our rivers are running high and discolored. Even the normally tame waters of the Fryingpan River are virtually devoid of anglers right now, with the lone exception being an area immediately below the dam dubbed as the "flats"... read the rest of the story here
