Stay up to date on what's happening at Bashore Scout Reservation
Thank you for choosing Bashore Scout Reservation to provide your 2021 summer camp program!
We are excited for our 2021 summer camp at Bashore Scout Reservation and are happy that you will be part of it! This summer we are preparing for things to be different then previous years. Please remain flexible as we move towards summer. We anticipate masks will be worn, and social distancing will be followed. We are working with our food service vendor to ensure your Scouts have a safe environment to eat. This may mean we eat in shifts, eat in campsites, or split up, to eat in the dining hall and a tent outside in the parade field. We may also need units to help bring tents to ensure we meet requirements for social distancing and overnight accommodations. We will be following all local, state, CDC and BSA guidelines to ensure our program is safe for all our Scouts and Scouters this summer.

2021 Bashore Scout Reservation Camp Management Team

The Pennsylvania Dutch Council is excited for the 2021 Summer Camp Season at Bashore Scout Reservation. To prepare for 2021 we would like to introduce our Summer Camp Management Team: Camp Director- Terry Wade and Program Director - Dave Emery.

Terry Wade is excited to step into the role of Camp Director. Terry has been a member of the Bashore Scout Reservation leadership team for over 15 years. He will continue to ensure that Bashore Scout Reservation provides a mountain top experience for our Scouts and Scouters.
Dave Emery will continue to grow the camp program at Bashore Scout Reservation. As the Blue Mountaineers Director, Dave ensured our first year campers had the best experience at camp and encouraged their growth in Scouting. Dave also taught Scouts how to lash their fingers together using only their mouth! Dave plans to grow enthusiasm at Bashore Scout Reservation with new and innovative programs for 2021 and beyond.

Scout Deposits Due February 15, 2021
We know that families are unsure about their summer plans for 2021 and they may not be willing to pay a deposit in February. To help us, we ask that troops provide an accurate attendance number by February 15. This helps us prepare our our budget, hire staff, and order supplies. The deposit is $50 per Scout and we ask that troops due their best to collect deposits as soon as they are able. There is no penalty for adding Scouts after February 15, 2021. Merit Badge signups open on April 1, 2021 and a deposit is required for each Scout to sign up for Merit Badges. The late fee takes affect starting May 16, 2021.
2021 Leader Guide and Merit Badge Schedule Available

The 2021 Leader Guide and Merit Badge Schedule is now completed online. The guide is a Google Document, which means we can update it instantaneously, rather then having to publish and upload a new version for updates. You can find the Leader Guide
Eagle Academy

Don’t let your Scouts miss out on Bashore’s Eagle Academy! Held August 1-7, 2021. Eagle Academy is a great way for Star and Life Scouts to get a jump on a few Eagle required merit badges and enjoy another week at camp. Space is limited to the first 25 applicants.
STEM Program

We are excited to continue our STEM programs for older Scouts! The morning program is called Build It! and the afternoon program is called Film It! Scouts can choose one or the other, and we really think they will enjoy what we have planned. Read more about them in the leaders guide. 
Camperships Deadline is March 15

The deadline for submitting Campership applications, March 15, 2021, is quickly approaching. Camperships exist to help Scouts with a financial need attend a Pennsylvania Dutch Council summer camp. Don’t let a lack of funds keep your Scouts from attending camp this summer. Camperships are given based upon need and funds available. Camperships are only available to Scouts registered in the Pennsylvania Dutch Council. This form is set up to be filled out and printed online. To ensure proper information is submitted, please avoid submitting hand written forms. New applications need to be submitted, even if you received a campership on 2020.

Camp Staff

Serving as a member of the Summer Camp Staff at Bashore Scout Reservation is one of the most rewarding experiences a Scout or Scouter can have. Camp Staff members impact hundreds of lives each summer and serve as living examples of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

We are looking for people to be on our camp staff. Anyone 14 or older can become part of our Bashore Scout Reservation Staff. For more information or to apply click here.

Archery Director: Age 18 or older, archery experience preferred. We can provide Archery certification
Trading Post Manager: Age 18 or older, retail experience preferred
Aquatics Staff: Age 16 or older
Program Staff: Age 15 or older
Counselor in Training: Age 14
