Basic Industrial Electricity Course to be Held
JARI and Penn Highlands Community College are hosting a training course on Basic Industrial Electricity. There are 12 seats available to companies who may be interested in participating. Details on the classes are listed below and the course outline can be accessed here .
Location:     Penn Highlands Community College, Richland Campus
             101 Community College Way  
             Johnstown, PA 15904 

Dates and Times :  The class is scheduled for the week of December 2
and the week of December 9. 
      Classes will be held from 8:00am to 12:00pm, Monday-Friday over a 2 week period.  

Length of Training:  40 hours 
Certificates of completion will be provided.

Provider:  Pennsylvania Highlands Community College

Instructor:  Mr. Stan Kieta, President REAL Controls, Inc. 

Cost / Participant:  For 8 participants, the cost per person will be $1,100. If we have 12 participants the cost will be $1,000 per person.

 Seats will be filled on a first come basis. To reserve seats, please complete the attached registration form and return the form to Julie via E-mail. Please include the company contact person for billing purposes. Companies will be invoiced individually. The deadline to reserve seats is November 15.
Hiram G. Andrews Center Celebrates 60th Anniversary

JARI would like to extend sincere congratulations to our partner, Hiram G. Andrews Center (HGAC), on their 60th anniversary! A celebration was held during the 16th Annual Career & Transition Fair, showcasing post-secondary training and the services provided by the organization.

The Basics of Media Relations

Shelley Johansson, communications specialist for Prime Design Solutions, will present The Basics of Media Relations on Thursday, November 7th. Attendees will learn about when and why you should write a press release, the anatomy of a press release, how press release copy is different than advertising copy, how to prepare for a media interview, ways to use your press release beyond the media and reacting to positive and negative media coverage.
This Lunch & Learn will be held at JARI Center (160 Jari Drive, Johnstown, PA) from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. The cost to register is $5 per person and lunch will be provided. Click here for registration details and form. Please register by November 6th. No shows on the day of the event will be billed.
Columbia University’s Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes & Vision 2025 organize Resilience Accelerator Workshop in Johnstown

Johnstown Vision 2025 is teaming up with Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture,
Planning and Preservation (Columbia GSAPP) and the Center for Resilient Cities and
Landscapes to host a Resilience Accelerator about Resilient Infrastructure on October 27-28 at
the Bottleworks Arts Center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
