Studio Art Skills Class
Studio Art Skills: Learning Color through the work of Georgia O'Keeffe
In this exercise, the students researched a Georgia O'Keeffe work. After deciding on their own composition, they first created a black and white pencil study, and then transferred the image to Bristol board. In the final work, the artist had to adjust the work, using both warm and cool colors. These pieces were rendered by the careful layering of colored pencils. This exercise was used to teach the students the impact of warm versus cool colors, and how colors can affect the overall feeling of a work of art.

Here are some samples of their work! Look for all the pieces in our art show on Wednesday, May 22.
