Mini-THON

The 5th annual Mini-THON was a success!  This year Basils raised $28,018.45 for the Four Diamonds Foundation and pediatric cancer research.  We are pleased to announce that Basils has raised almost $150,000 over the last 5 years! Please click the links below to see a heartfelt thank you from our students and also a list of the many ways that $28,018.45 can be used.

Icon Blessing
Our thanks to Fr. John for his visit to Basils and his Icon Blessing.
Band Trip
The Basil Band joined forces with Saint Albert the Great School and Saint Luke School to present a concert to students and faculty at the Royer-Greaves School for the Blind in Paoli. With 70 musicians on stage, the performance was inspirational and powerful.  The musicians were fortunate to be able to share their hard work and talents. The performance also gave our students an opportunity to connect with young musicians from some of our feeder schools. It was a great time for everyone!

Honors Convocation, NHS Induction & Art Exhibit
The annual Honors Convocation of May 22 was an evening to honor all students who attained the Honor Roll during any of the first three quarters of this year and the last quarter of the previous year.  Each honoree was recognized and received a pin. The newest members of the Saint Macrina Chapter of the National Honor Society were inducted that evening, as well.  The Basil community welcomed back Judge Diane Costanzo, Class of 1978, as guest speaker for the occasion.  Diane emphasized to the student body that they attain not only an academic education at Saint Basil Academy, but develop a strong Christian foundation that will support them their entire lives.  The Honors Convocation was followed by a reception and the opportunity to view the annual Art Show, featuring the wonderful projects of all the Basil art classes in many media and artistic styles.  Congratulations to all!
National Honor Society
On Wednesday, May 22, 16 new members of the Saint Macrina Chapter of the NHS were inducted by Siena Wanders, the current NHS president, during the school's annual Honors Convocation. National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize students that excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character and service. Members of the Saint Macrina chapter of NHS spend many hours tutoring their peers, and they also organize Basil's blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross.  Congratulations to the newest members of NHS!
