From the Pastor...

What would you think if you got one of these invitations in the mail: the Prince of Wales requesting the pleasure of your company at the wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle?

Once you got over your amazement, you'd surely be thrilled. The royal wedding that will take place at Windsor Castle on May 19th just may be the most-watched media event of the year.

Can you imagine responding to the invitation, saying,"Sorry, Prince Charles, no can do: gotta catch up on my Netflix binge-watching that day"?

Of course not. Responding "Regrets" to a royal wedding invitation is unheard of.

But that's what happens in Jesus' Parable of the Wedding Banquet ( Matthew 22:1-14 ). The king issues the invitations but everyone says no.

What's even more remarkable is what happens next. The king decides to expand the guest list in a surprising way.

This is Communion Sunday. We've all received an invitation to the feast. How will we respond?
