ACC Student Affairs Logo

Dear ACC colleagues,

We are excited to share updates regarding the Bats to Cats transfer program, which offers ACC students a pathway for guaranteed admission to Texas State University (TXST). TXST is the top transfer destination for ACC students, with campuses in San Marcos and Round Rock. We have had tremendous interest in the program to date, with students submitting the required declaration form and beginning their path toward transferring to TXST in fall 2025 and beyond.

Bats to Cats supports Student Affairs’ goal to increase the number of students transferring out of ACC by helping our students:

  • Transfer with more credits that directly apply to their TXST degree, thus saving time and money
  • Receive an additional Bats to Cats financial award to assist with tuition
  • Develop a sense of belonging and community with both ACC and TXST

Bats to Cats is open to ACC students intending to transfer to TXST in select majors, such as Business Administration, Biology, Computer Science, and more. The Bats to Cats website has a full list of the majors and pathways available to ACC students in this guaranteed admission program, and will include majors and pathways that are offered in the future.

If you meet with students interested in transferring to TXST, encourage them to visit the program website and complete the declaration form. The Bats to Cats declaration form is open through Dec. 15, 2024, and will re-open in the spring semester (Feb. 1 through Aug. 15, 2025). Students participating in Bats to Cats should follow the aligned pathway for their desired degree. Signing up may require students to change or add the aligned ACC major to their student record.

ACC students pursuing majors not listed on the Bats to Cats site can still transfer to TXST by meeting TXST admissions criteria and following the appropriate transfer planning guide

We hope these resources will empower you to connect eligible students with this amazing opportunity! As we pursue our Theory of Change and our goals within Student Affairs, we know the importance of creating seamless transfer experiences for our students. Thank you for saying ‘yes’ to making Bats to Cats a success for our students.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our program email address, batstocats@austincc.edu, or submit your feedback via the Bats to Cats Faculty/Staff internal site.

Sincerely,

Dr. Guillermo “Willie” Martinez III
