Message from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez:
Human trafficking is a national crisis that plagues communities across the country. This horrific crime affects all people, including young adults and children. This week, we announced the results of a major human trafficking initiative that put dozens of possible human trafficking victims on a path toward freedom. Working with our law enforcement and community partners, we do everything possible ensure these victims get the help they need to turn their lives around and make positive contributions to our neighborhoods. Thank you to our hard-working deputies, investigators, and law enforcement partners for their efforts in a successful mission to battle this affliction on our county. Patrol Major Mike Lee stopped by to meet with lateral deputies and newly hired detention officers while they were in our Crisis Intervention Team class at the academy. I’m eager for all of you young deputies and detention officer to begin their careers with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and utilize the fantastic training you receive at our academy.
