Back to school is a time for change and new opportunities for both parents and students. As we get back into our busy schedules, I want to highlight the hard work of our Business and Education Partnership (BEP) and recognize the opportunities they have created for high school students in the community.
The BEP is a collaborative effort between local businesses and educational institutions in the Bay area. The primary goal is to bridge the gap between the business community and the education sector to benefit both students and local businesses.
Through this program, mock job interviews have been implemented in high schools across Bay County to teach students how to build a network and how to be prepared for a real job interview. Job shadowing, along with Mad City Money, a hands-on simulation that gives students a taste of the real world complete with occupation, salary, spouse, student loan debt, credit card debt and insurance payments are two other great programs to make your student aware of this year.
Please join us on October 5 to hear an update from Superintendents across our county at our Leading the Way Speaker Series: The State of Education.
