Lakeshore Recreation Study
Bay-Lake RPC works cooperatively with WCMP in managing the ecological, economic, and aesthetic assets of Lake Michigan
and its coastal areas
.
We are currently working on a Lakeshore Coastal Recreation Study and need your input by participating in an online survey.
Coastal recreation provides significant economic and social benefits to both visitors and residential communities. In order to plan for future expansions and understand how coastal management decisions could impact recreational use and amenities, it is necessary to establish a baseline of how many people use the lakeshore, what they participate in, and where there are opportunities - particularly in a geospatial context.
This is the last opportunity to participate in our online survey and interactive map - we would love to have your feedback on the lakeshore of Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan Counties!
The Interactive Map can be found:

Brownfield Redevelopment Assistance
Are you interested in brownfield assistance, but are not sure where to begin?
Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission received a grant to help with the redevelopment of brownfields in our region. BLRPC's program can assist communities with a free Phase 1 Environmental Assessment to research the historical use of a property. If further testing and investigation is necessary, a Phase II Environmental Assessment can also be done at no cost to the community. Additionally, the program can assist with planning for the site's end use. For more information please visit our website, contact Elizabeth Runge or call

Soil Health & Cover Crop Forum
Bay-Lake staff recently had the opportunity to attend an event in Manitowoc County regarding information and technical assistance for soil health strategies and implementation techniques. Advancements of quality no-till, cover crops, adaptive nutrient, pest management, and crop rotations with precision technology were among the many discussion points. The event was held at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, and was sponsored by several local agricultural groups. It was a very informative event and we look forward to other similar events in the future. Thank you, Wisconsin farmers!
