E-NEWSLETTER VOLUME 8,  ISSUE 8 / AUGUST 2018
Two Rivers Water Trail Story Map
The Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission has officially launched the Twin Rivers Water Trail interactive story map. The story map coincides with a planning effort that has been underway for over a year and indicates access points along the Twin Rivers Water Trail, which follows the East and West Twin Rivers in Manitowoc County. Along with the story map, waterproof signs have been placed at seven of the fourteen access points along the Trail.

Click here to view the story map in detail and be sure to check out the Bay-Lake RPC's Mapping and Visualization webpage to view more exciting interactive tools!

For further information on interactive story maps and applications, please contact Nicole Barbiaux .
Will you need help with your Community Development Block Grant-Public Facility (CDBG-PF) Award?
The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) will be announcing Community Development Block Grant-Public Facility (CDBG-PF) awards very soon. The applications were due May 24, 2018.

This annual grant program is a federally funded program that helps support infrastructure and facility projects for eligible projects and communities. The types of projects that are eligible include street improvements, drainage systems, water and sewer systems, community centers, and various other public projects.  The administration of these awards include federal Davis Bacon wage compliance and can be complicated.

If your community needs assistance with administration of this grant, or any other grant awards, please contact Elizabeth Runge.
Kewaunee County Invasive Species
Project Update
The Bay-Lake RPC will soon have a firm under contract to conduct the herbicide treatments of Phragmites and Japanese knotweed in Kewaunee County. Herbicide treatments will get underway in September 2018. We have funding to treat at least 1,000 acres total over 2 years. Approximately, 600 acres will be targeted in 2018, with follow-up treatments on approximately 400 acres occurring in 2019.
Treatment areas will be prioritized in the following manner: (1) along river corridors, (2) natural areas and parks, (3) roadsides, then (4) private lands.
Once treatments get underway, landowners are encouraged to call the Bay-Lake RPC Invasives Treatment Hotline at 920-430-0220 to hear a recorded message about where treatments are taking place. The hotline recording will be updated daily or as treatments move to new areas in the county.
For more information, please contact  Angela Kowalzek-Adrians.
