Be a Star
Have you ever thought of yourself as a star?
Well, if you are a child of God that is exactly what you are. That is what you are called to be. Let me ask you a few questions. I have asked myself these very same questions the last couple of days. Here goes:
1. Does your life brighten up a room when you walk into it?
2. Do your children and grandchildren reflect the love that you give them?
3. Are your co-workers happy to see you come into the office in the morning?
4. Are the people that you worship with each Sunday happy that you came?
In Jeremiah 29:11 (one of my favorite verses by the way) it says that God has wonderful plans for each of us. Plans to help us prosper, not harm. Plans that will give us hope and a future.
Each of us is given the same twenty-four hours in a day and the same seven days a week. What are you doing with the time that you have been given? I think each of us realizes that our time is drawing short. Even more reason for us to use that time and those plans in the way that God has intended them to be used.
Do not let your star fall to the ground and don’t underestimate the power of your light. Philippians 3:14 says “Press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
I also want to encourage you to look for those stars around you. They just may be looking for some encouragement to let their light shine. Sometimes affirmation makes a huge difference in those dreams.
