Moriel Ministries Be Alert!

... Your Life is Hidden with Christ in God ...

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Prayer Request for Carol Champion
Carol Champion Moriel & Jacob Prasch request serious prayer for long standing Moriel team member Carol Champion who has been diagnosed with a rheumatoid arthritis affecting her health inter systemically including her eyes.

We have recently experienced the graciousness and power of God and the power of prayer with the safe return home of S'phiwe in Africa against all odds for which we remain grateful to The Lord and to those who prayed. May the same God that kept His Hand on S'phiwe keep His mighty Hand on Carol and may it be a hand of healing. May The Lord bless her with His peace during this ordeal and grant wisdom and guidance to her physicians in Jesus Name.

Moriel Mission Philippines and Jacob's Recent Visit -
Aug 2016
MORIEL MINISTRIES - By James Jacob Prasch - August 24, 2016

CHILDREN'S DENTAL MISSION
Moriel Children's Dental Mission in Olongapo is now underway. 49 kids and 11 more are coming. We took the severe tooth ache cases and gum disease cases first. None of these kids ever saw a dentist and the smaller ones didn't know what a dentist is. Some of the little ones didn't have a clue what was going on.

We interviewed a few dentists to get the right people and facilities we needed. It is fantastic. Just as good with God's help as the Pediatric Medical Mission we did, this time it is teeth, and lots of them!

We did tons of x rays. It will have been quite a project for us when it is completed. This will be followed by classes in oral hygiene by a pedantic hygienist.

DENGUEY FEVER - THE BATTLE CONTINUES
This year, as soon as the monsoon rains stop, we are going to war against Dengue fever. We are going to smoke the mosquitoes out of existence before they infect any more of our kids.

TEACHING MINISTRY
The Tegelo translation work of scripture teaching and the pastor training by Brother Hope continues. Filipinos are good at evangelism (although Moriel does evangelize in The Philippines). The spiritual need is discipleship teaching and scripturally qualified pastors.

PRAYER REQUESTS
As you can see from the photos, we are needing a bigger mini bus to transport more kids which we are working on obtaining (we have about 100 children now, all rescued from the garbage dump where they scavenged to survive with predictably rotten teeth and ultra high Dengue fever risk).

To hear these kids sing hymns and say their prayers is absolutely magnificent. The Lord is indeed gracious both to them and to us!

Please pray for Paul Seville and his mission team in Olongapo/ Subic Bay, and the ministry of Brother Hope.

Please also pray that The Lord provides a new larger vehicle for transporting the children. We are only asking the Lord for the money and not soliciting our readers. We have the Dental Mission nearly funded already by God's goodness. We are however in desperate need of a larger and more reliable transport vehicle for the kids.

J. Jacob Prasch

Moriel Missions Policy
Moriel can make needs known (the main one being prayer), and as The Lord leads receive contributions by those so led of the Lord to contribute. Except in very occasional cases of a major disaster however (eg. Earthquakes), Moriel does not, per se, 'fundraise' for its projects. We do however actively and aggressively seek prayer.

Moriel Philippines Latest Missions Report - June 2016
MORIEL MINISTRIES - By Ptr. Paul - June 16, 2016

Grace and peace be multiply unto you from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Last month we brought our young children at Iba Zambales to attend the Young Peoples Fellowship.
We needed to rent a Van because the small Jeep couldn't accommodate these growing children. Kyla, Kintara, and Shane are first timer in attending the Fellowship.
Going home with joy and learned additional experience are appreciated blessings.

Recently, we have conducted again the Moriel Give a Gift School bags and school supplies to complete the school needs of the dump children.
The children were so happy and their parents were glad and thankful. This encourage them to let their children come to School.

Moriel gifts are really a big help for them, it lessens the expenses of their family.
Thank you very much and to all our supporters for all the blessings.
We appreciate very much your generous heart.

May our Gracious God continue to bless you and the ministry.

Sincerely in Christ,

Ptr. Paul

7,000 Churches Fasting, Praying Over Terrifying New Persecution Law
CHARISMA [Strang Communications/Stephen Strang] - By Jessilyn Justice - July 8, 2016
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an anti-terrorism law, but for the country's many churches, the signature sparked a demand for prayer and fasting.

The bill toughens punishment for acts deemed to be terrorism and for the organization of "mass unrest," according to the Los Angeles Times. It would also introduce prison sentences of up to a year for those who fail to report such crimes.

Furthermore, Great Commission Ministries Chairman Hanny Haukka tells Charisma News the law entails:
  • Foreign guests are not permitted to speak in churches unless they have a "work permit" from Russian authorities
  • If a friend or relative from outside Russia wishes to share his/her faith in your home the guest will be fined and expelled from Russia.
  • Any discussion of God with non-believers is considered missionary activity and will be punishable.
  • Missionary activity will be permitted by special government permission. Example: If one traveling on a train shares his faith without written permission the offender will be taken into police custody for the duration of the journey and will be fined 50,000 rubles ($1,000).
  • Offenders from the age of 14-years-old will be subject to prosecution
  • Religious activity is no longer permitted in private homes. Most churches in Russia meet in homes.
  • Every citizen is obligated to report religious activity of neighbors to the authorities. Failure to be an informant is punishable by law.
  • One may pray and read the Bible at home but not in the presence of a non-believing person. You will be breaking the law and be punished.
  • If the church has purchased property it cannot be converted into a place of worship.
  • In church buildings, it is not permitted to invite people to turn to God. Worship services are permitted but making a non-believer a follower of Christ is against the law.
  • In response, thousands of churches across the country have come together to cry out to God.

"The church is appalled at the news of the new law. About 7,000 evangelical/protestant churches are in fasting and prayer at the moment over the news," Haukka tells Charisma News via email.

Churches aren't the only residents enraged by the law.

American refugee Edward Snowden tweeted: "#Putin has signed a repressive new law that violates not only human rights, but common sense. Dark day for #Russia."

What's more, critics are now declaring the Yarovaya laws, aka the "Big Brother," laws, as a sign of the end times:

If these amendments come into force, prison sentences for certain non-violent "extremist" crimes will potentially be twice as long as, for example, murder committed in the heat of passion, which carries a maximum sentence of three years.

Despite receiving nearly unanimous support in parliament, the Yarovaya laws have triggered a flood of apocalyptic commentary. Many wonder why Russia's already excessively harsh criminal laws are being made harsher.

The only official criticism of the legislation, however, has come from the Presidential Human Rights Council, which has highlighted ways in which the proposed amendments directly contradict the Constitution and existing laws. This criticism has been almost entirely ignored.

The Duma has already passed a number of laws that have harshened Russian law in the name of fighting terrorism and extremism. It criminalized "public calls for the violation of territorial integrity" and "rehabilitation of Nazism," a direct affront to the freedom of speech. In 2013, it passed a law that allowed the state to confiscate property from individuals affiliated with terrorists, including their relatives.

The government has long used the "fight against terrorism and extremism" to justify repressive laws, no matter how obviously senseless they may be. As a result, Russia's statutory framework can now be effectively used to target not only credible extremist threats, but also political opponents of the state. A large group of prominent Russian lawyers decried this problem in an open letter in 2013, saying that the "parliament's legislative work has acquired a distinctly prohibitive and repressive character."

In response, Haukka pleads with believers around the world to join with Russian churches in prayer and fasting.

"Russia is closing down in an awful way. The new law is in total conflict with the purpose and the task given to the church by the Lord. The law will send the church back into Soviet era Communist persecution," he says.

Russia's Newest Law: No Evangelizing Outside of Church
UPDATE: Putin signs new restrictions that limit where and how Christians share the gospel
CHRISTIANITY TODAY [CTI Publications] - By Kate Shellnutt - July 8, 2016
This week (July 8), Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a package of anti-terrorism laws that usher in tighter restrictions on missionary activity and evangelism.
Despite prayers and protests from religious leaders and human rights advocates, the Kremlin announced Putin's approval yesterday. The amendments, including laws against sharing faith in homes, online, or anywhere but recognized church buildings, go into effect July 20.
Though opponents to the new measures hope to eventually appeal in court or elect legislators to amend them, they have begun to prepare their communities for life under the new rules, reported Forum 18 News Service, a Christian outlet reporting on the region.

Protestants and religious minorities small enough to gather in homes fear they will be most affected. Last month, "the local police officer came to a home where a group of Pentecostals meet each Sunday," Konstantin Bendas, deputy bishop of the Pentecostal Union, told Forum 18. "With a contented expression he told them: 'Now they're adopting the law I'll drive you all out of here.' I reckon we should now fear such zealous enforcement."
"There are potentially very wide-sweeping ramifications to this law," Joel Griffith of the Slavic Gospel Association said in a Mission Network News report. "It just depends on, again, how it is going to be enforced, and that is a very huge question mark."

------
Earlier reporting (June 29): Christians in Russia won't be allowed to email their friends an invitation to church or to evangelize in their own homes if Russia's newest set of surveillance and anti-terrorism laws are enacted.
The proposed laws, considered the country's most restrictive measures in post-Soviet history, place broad limitations on missionary work, including preaching, teaching, and engaging in any activity designed to recruit people into a religious group.
To share their faith, citizens must secure a government permit through a registered religious organization, and they cannot evangelize anywhere besides churches and other religious sites. The restrictions even apply to activity in private residences and online.

This week, Russia's Protestant minority-estimated around 1 percent of the population-prayed, fasted, and sent petitions to President Vladimir Putin, who will have to approve the measures before they become official.
"Most evangelicals-leaders from all seven denominations-have expressed concerns," Sergey Rakhuba, president of Mission Eurasia and a former Moscow church-planter, told CT. "They're calling on the global Christian community to pray that Putin can intervene and God can miraculously work in this process."
Following a wave of Russian nationalist propaganda, the laws passed almost unanimously in the Duma, the upper house, on Friday and in the Federation Council, the lower house, today.

"If this legislation is approved, the religious situation in the country will grow considerably more complicated and many believers will find themselves in exile and subjected to reprisals because of our faith," wrote Oleg Goncharov, spokesman for the Seventh-day Adventists' Euro-Asia division, in an open letter.
Proposed by United Russia party lawmaker Irina Yarovaya, the law appears to target religious groups outside the Russian Orthodox church. Because it defines missionary activities as religious practices to spread a faith beyond its members, "if that is interpreted as the Moscow Patriarchate is likely to, it will mean the Orthodox Church can go after ethnic Russians but that no other church will be allowed to," according to Frank Goble, an expert on religious and ethnic issues in the region.
Russian nationalist identity remains tied up with the Russian Orthodox church.

"The Russian Orthodox church is part of a bulwark of Russian nationalism stirred up by Vladimir Putin," David Aikman, history professor and foreign affairs expert, told CT. "Everything that undermines that action is a real threat, whether that's evangelical Protestant missionaries or anything else."
Sergei Ryakhovsky, head of the Protestant Churches of Russia, and several other evangelical leaders called the law a violation of religious freedom and personal conscience in a letter to Putin posted on the Russian site Portal-Credo. The letter reads, in part:

The obligation on every believer to have a special permit to spread his or her beliefs, as well as hand out religious literature and material outside of places of worship and used structures is not only absurd and offensive, but also creates the basis for mass persecution of believers for violating these provisions.

Soviet history shows us how many people of different faiths have been persecuted for spreading the Word of God. This law brings us back to a shameful past."

Stalin-era religious restrictions-including outlawing religious activity outside of Sunday services in registered churches and banning parents from teaching faith to their kids-remained on the books until the collapse of the Soviet Union, though the government enforced them only selectively.
Some have questioned whether the government could or would monitor religious activity in private Christian homes.
"I don't think you can overestimate the Russian government's willingess to exert control," Aikman told CT. If history is any indication, the proposed regulations reveal a pattern of "creeping totalitarianism" in the country, he said.

The so-called Big Brother laws also introduce widespread surveillance of online activity, including requiring encrypted apps to give the government the power to decode them, and assigning stronger punishments for extremism and terrorism.
The proposal is an "attack on freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and the right to privacy that gives law enforcement unreasonably broad powers," the humanitarian group Human Rights Watch told The Guardian.
If passed, the anti-evangelism law carries fines up to US $780 for an individual and $15,500 for an organization. Foreign visitors who violate the law face deportation.
Russia has already moved to contain foreign missionaries. The "foreign agent" law, adopted in 2012, requires groups from abroad to file detailed paperwork and be subject to government audits and raids. Since then, the NGO sector has shrunk by a third, according to government statistics.

"In Moscow, we shared an office with 24 organizations. Not a single foreign expatriate mission is there now," Rakhuba previously told CT. "They could not re-register. Missionaries could not return to Russia because they could not renew their visas. It is next to impossible to get registration as a foreign organization today."
While Russia's evangelicals pray that the proposed regulations are amended or vetoed, they have gone underground before, and they'll be willing to do it again, Rakhuba said.
"They say, 'If it will come to it, it's not going to stop us from worshiping and sharing our faith,'" he wrote. "The Great Commission isn't just for a time of freedom."

"The Role of Women in Ministry"
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN - Moriel update: July 29, 2016
Alert! MORIEL MINISTRIES - By James Jacob Prasch - July 29, 2016
Contrary to baseless reports being circulated on feminist blog sites calling themselves "Christian" , neither Moriel or its leadership have issued any apology for our doctrinal opposition to this feminism of the secular world infiltrating the Body of Christ under the clear influence of Satan. The doctrinal ignorance reflected on these feminist blogs is unmistakably evident as is the fact that their feminist rants are fuelled by emotionally charged outbursts reflecting the demonic Jezebel spirit where the husbands submit to their wives in an abrogation of God's order.

Moriel recognizes the indispensable role of women in ministry in the Body of Christ , including in leadership and teaching ministry to other women as well as in deaconship, and exercising charismatic gifts in scriptural order which includes ministering under the authority of protective male covering , and as help mates to their husbands. To this end, Moriel additionally has also funded the ministry of various women and sponsored women's conference events and continues to do so. There are in fact also two Moriel branches administrated by women whom we doctrinally classify as deaconesses. We also continue to sanction the excellent women's ministries of notable figures such as Johanna Michaelson, Caryl Matriciana, and a number of Precept women discipled by the teaching of Kay Arthur. There are indeed a number of women's ministries who deserve our prayers, support, and endorsement - but neither the Paula White, Cindy Jacobs, and Joyce Meyer houses of heresy, the lunatic fringe "Women's Aglow" or the cultic "End times Handmaidens of The Lord" movement, or their first cousins - the blogging pseudo Christian feminist Jezabel clubs are among them.

We also however stand by the unambiguous scriptural teaching that leadership is male and that women cannot teach doctrine to mixed congregations or function as pastors. When God uses an Esther, there is always a Mordecai. When God uses a Deborah, there is always a Barak, and when God uses a Priscilla, there is an Aquila. Where there is an Ahab however, there is also a Jezebel.

The husband is the head of the wife as Christ is head of the church (Ephesians 5:22-23). This is God's position, and thus it is therefore also ours. This is the unambiguous teaching of God's Word and we unapologetically abide by it.

HARPAZO The Intra-Seal Rapture of the Church
NOW AVAILABLE!
HARPAZO
When it comes to books devoted to eschatology in general and the Rapture specifically, they often either read like a formal academic argument written solely for the benefit of scholars or employ the use of fiction to avoid directly handling the underlying biblical text. As with Jacob's previous books and exhaustive list of sermons covering nearly every area of theology, Harpazo presents the doctrine of the Rapture and Resurrection in the strictest biblical sense possible, leveraging the handling of Scripture in the same manner as passed along to us by Christ through the Apostles and Early Church of the 1st century. ...
