Connections: June 15, 2021
Dear beloved CCSM community,

As the state reopens today I imagine that as we breathe a sigh of relief, we also continue to experience many of the emotions that are catching up with us from the last year. At the outdoor service on Sunday, Jorge preached a sermon called "Peace Be Still!"

I know I needed to hear those words in the depth of my soul. Then on Monday, someone gave me a card with this poem on it, encouraging me to rest, and be at peace. Clearly, the Spirit was trying to get through to me.

So I share this poem with you, hoping it will remind you to rest, and to be at peace.

Pax

All that matters is to be at one with the living God
to be a creature in the house of the God of Life.

Like a dog asleep on a rug
at peace, in peace
and at one with the master of the house, with the mistress,
at home, at home in the house of the living,
sleeping on the hearth, and yawning before the fire.

Sleeping on the hearth of the living world
yawning at home before the fire of life
feeling the presence of the living God
like a great reassurance
a deep calm in the heart
a presence
as of the master sitting at the board
in his own and greater being,
in the house of life.

May you feel the presence of the living God like a great reassurance this week.

Even though many of you are away, I hope you will take the time to tune in this coming Sunday. It will be a simplified service with a special message from me called "The Stories We Tell Ourselves."

Peace,
Penny

SECOND HOUR on Sunday, June 20

All Church Forum on
Going Solar
as part of the journey toward becoming
a Climate Church

The purpose of the Forum is to share details and information on the upcoming Going Solar project with the entire congregation, to discuss the details of the project and to solicit and receive feedback and comments. We hope to discuss the results of the Climate Survey and introduce other parts of the journey for CCSM to become a Climate Church. The Board of Directors approved the project this spring around the time of our Climate April sermon series.
