It is an extraordinary honor to address you virtually for the first time as your new President & CEO of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I am excited to be joining the FWHCC Team and am honored to be continue the strong legacy that has been paved by previous Chamber leaders since 1973.

This is such an electrifying time in the city of Fort Worth.  We are a city energized by the promising growth and fueled by a passionate community who wants to contribute to our community's success story. Our Chamber is focused on ensuring that our members are ready and well-positioned to be an intricate part of building the Fort Worth of tomorrow. I am looking forward to getting to know you, your business, your journey, your ambitions, and how we can serve you.

Please consider me ready and available to hear your thoughts and feedback as our FWHCC Chamber team hones a strategic plan that will be guiding our organization's future trajectory. To help support this effort, we'll be launching a membership survey in the coming weeks. I strongly encourage all members to participate and share your thoughts. We value your input!

Join Fort Worth ISD Board President Jacinto Ramos, Jr. and Dr. Kent Paredes Scribner, Fort Worth ISD Superintendent, for Fort Worth ISD's 5th Creando Una Amistad on Friday, August 9 from 5-7 p.m. at La Gran Plaza. Creando Una Amistad (Creating a Friendship) is part of Fort Worth ISD's commitment to listen to and talk directly with Spanish-speaking families and as well as inform them about support and opportunities in the District. Parents will also be able to participate in a discussion with District leaders about the importance of welcoming environments for students and other issues. Creando Una Amistad is being held in partnership with Univision and La Gran Plaza.

Member Spotlight: Gloria Starling

Gloria Starling fell in love with the restaurant industry at a very young age. She has found guest satisfaction to be one of her primary goals. Perseverance and leadership have led to a lifelong career in the industry. 

Gloria loves the community and people of Fort Worth. She values the history, culture and friendly and welcoming nature of the people that Fort Worth is known for. She runs her restaurant based on her dedication to the company, team members, community, and guests. She is motivated by her desire to achieve the perfect guest experience. 

As Managing Partner at The Capital Grille Fort Worth, Gloria has achieved Darden Restaurant's 2016 Diamond Club status. She was featured in the Fort Worth Business CEO magazine as one of the 20 Women to Watch in Business and was also named the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2014 Business Woman of the Year. Texas Restaurant Association named her Restaurateur of the Year for 2015 and the Fort Worth Business Press named her as one of the Great Woman of Texas in 2016. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized her with the Chairman's Award in 2018.

In her downtime, Gloria loves spending time with her friends and family but her favorite part of life is spending time her son Gabriel, who now has his own foundation, Tough Stars Give Back.
Ambassador Spotlight: Marcos Lopez

As a Business Relationship Manager, Marcos Lopez is responsible for managing a portfolio of business clients by building relationships and providing financial advice with a focus on client experience and risk management. This requires providing the best in client advice and service and develop the relationship to ensure a seamless client experience. Marcos is also looking to develop new business relationships and deepen existing relationship to position Chase as the primary bank for his clients. Marcos serves the banking needs of businesses with $1 million to $20 million in revenue.
Marcos joined Chase Bank in June 2019.  Previously, Marcos worked for other banking firms starting as an account administrator responsible for ensuring high quality customer service and resolve accurately and timely issue resolutions. From there, Marcos went to serve as a Business Banking Manager for the last 5 years.
As an Ambassador for the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Marcos serves as the Chamber's primary liaison to new Chamber members and the community. This requires Marcos to promote the value of the Chamber, participate in active recruitment as well as member retention, and attend/host Chamber functions.
Marcos is based in Southwest Fort Worth and speaks Spanish fluently. Marcos has now resided in Fort Worth for the last 3 years and is happy to call Fort Worth his home.

The Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to present three nominees for the 2019 Hispanic Business Salute. FWHCC has nominated the following business owners for this year's recognition:

In partnership with NBC and Telemundo, FWHCC recognizes the most outstanding entrepreneurs and business owners of Fort Worth for the 2019 Hispanic Business Salute. Each selected individual must exhibit outstanding leadership characteristics and success in elevating and empowering his/her local Hispanic population with a concentration on improving the Hispanic community with which they live, work or support.
Member Recognition: Alfred Saenz

Congratulations to President/CEO of Multatech EngineeringAlfred Saenz, on being presented with a resolution by  Representative Ramon Romero, Jr.,  congratulating him on 20 years at his company and recognizing his service to the Fort Worth community. We appreciate Al's years of service to the FWHCC Board of Directors, serving as past chairman of the board.
Member Recognition: Florence Salazar-Bruner

Congratulations to FWHCC Board Member and Owner/CEO of Firehouse Auto Sales, Florence Salazar-Bruner, on being recognized at the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA) Conference with an Outstanding Woman Award. This award recognizes women who have accelerated the success of their dealership and are shining a light on the contributions and leadership of women in the industry.
