Part 2: First the Tenth

Hi Friends!

I’ve heard from many of you that last Sunday’s message, “First the Heart,” really struck a chord. It was powerful to see how God is working among us as we open our hearts to Him in this season. If you missed it—or if you’d like to hear it again—you can watch it here: Be God’s – Part 1: “First the Heart” (Matthew 6:19–24; 23:23)

This Sunday we continue our series “Be God’s” with a message called “First the Tenth” based on Malachi 3:10 and Proverbs 3:9.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… and see if I will not open the windows of heaven.”

We’ll talk about what happens when we honor God first with our money—how the tithe isn’t a fundraising goal but a faith-building act of worship. When we give God the first tenth, we’re declaring, “Everything I have belongs to You.”

And then
on Sunday, November 23, our Youth will lead worship, and it will be our Commitment Sunday—a day when we’ll prayerfully respond to God’s call to belong fully to Him. It’s going to be a special morning of joy, gratitude, and worship.

Pledge cards for 2026 have been mailed out and are also available in the Sanctuary. You can fill yours out in person or online at Perry Methodist 2026 Stewardship Commitment Card

The most important thing isn’t the card—it’s what happens in our hearts. Take time this week to be in God’s Word and in prayer. We want our whole church to be God’s—to belong completely to Him in every part of life, including how we give, serve, and love.

See you Sunday!

Be God’s,

Tom
