KRISTINA'S WEEKLY EMAIL OF THOUGHT-PROVOKING ESSAYS & VIDEOS TO KEEP YOU CONNECTED TO YOURSELF ON THIS JOURNEY CALLED LIFE
A NOTE FROM KRISTINA:
Greetings!

Since I'm currently on my version of a vacation, this week's note is going to be short and sweet :)

It's been a bizarre year to say the least, and we're just heading into the thick of it with cooler temps but a heated climate with the election season on its way. Whether or not you are still operating on a school calendar, for many of us, Labor Day is like another new year. So why not take some time over the holiday weekend to check in with yourself and get a handle on what has transpired over these last six-nine months. We're also coming into the final stretch of a three year cycle, so if you're feeling extra ambitious, I suggest taking it back that far as well!

Also, since you might have a little more time over the long weekend and may be looking for good podcast-type content with someone like yours truly, check out my interview from last month Rick Young. We cover a wide range of topics - as I had no idea what he would ask - including creativity, communication, healing, success, Michelle Obama, Muhammad Ali, and what it's like for me to be tall!

For this week's Instagram post, here's what I had to say about the passing of Chadwick Boseman, who touched so many in the short time he was here. And the PGG Video of the week is a one of my "Today's thoughts" IGTV's from April in the thick of the lockdown in which I share one of the ways in which I have grown during this time, and where I reference this long form IG Live interview with Zanade Mann of The Grand Reset which you can watch part one here and part two here.

Lastly, if you look forward to and benefit from these weekly missives and PGG essays and want to show your gratitude for my labor, any donations for my efforts are welcome and appreciated here: Paypal.me/kristinaleonardi. And as always, please feel free to contact me with any comments about anything.

Big hug <3

We’re working our jobs, collect our pay
Believe we’re gliding down the highway, when in fact we’re slip slidin’ away ~ Paul Simon

How is it that it's Labor Day?! I’m not sure why the older we get the faster time seems to go, but coupled with the technological superhighway we’ve been on, the perception of it is certainly speeding up and life is passing us by in a blink of an eye.

Between the boob tube, a gazillion distractions on the internet and social media, aimless nights out on the town or sales at the mall, and whatever celebrity gossip channels and news media outlets force us to be focused on at the moment, it’s easy to lose track of what we can control and create for ourselves.

And no matter what you do for a living, it’s easy to let the daily grind eat up your days; if you’re not connected in a meaningful way to your work it makes it worse, and if you have others to care for on top of your own stuff that adds even more to your load. Whew!

This is why it’s so important to stop every now and then — daily, weekly, monthly quarterly — the more the better — to see what’s really happening in your life, rather than perpetually going through the motions to get through the day.

I am constantly reminding my audiences and clients that our time and energy are our most precious resources, so as we head into last few months of the year, take this opportunity to check in to see if you’ve been using yours the way you said you would back in January. Due to the unusual circumstances and twists and turns of this year, it's quite likely you haven't - so instead, think about what have you learned, accomplished and/or how have you grown these past six months? What are your values and are they the same as they were at the beginning of 2020? What kind of life do you envision for yourself going forward?

And it’s always a good time of year to reflect upon all the blessings in our lives — and no matter how challenging things might be, we can always find something for which to give thanks.

Because unlike the shows on our DVR’s, we cannot simply rewind our lives and recover lost time, but we can review for ourselves what’s transpired in order to learn from our experiences and move forward with a better understanding and clearer purpose for whatever is next on the horizon.

Not sure where the minutes, hours and days are going, what you did with the ones you had, or feel like you don’t have anything to put on your gratitude list this year? You can get some ideas from Alanis, or simply give me a buzz — we’ll do an instant replay and send you on your way!
