From the Founder
Our Kenya Mission Wear Fashion Show and Fundraiser was quite the event to get launched and implemented!
We started the conversation in March and made it to the finish line on Saturday, August 15, 2026. As I worked on the messaging and programming surrounding all of the fashion show fun, a theme began to emerge through much reflection, prayer, and conversation: Find Your Place in the Story.
It became so clear to me that Dorcas Destiny International—affectionately known as DDI—is a story, and so many people have already found their place in it through relationship, fellowship, service, mission, ministry, and family.
We’ve celebrated 9 birthdays and are now in our 10th year. There is SO much more to accomplish, and we need people to lock arms with us and help us go where the Lord is directing us.

And I never want us to lose sight of why we do any of it. Every meeting. Every conversation. Every phone call. Every prayer. Every volunteer hour.
Every social media share. Every box packed. Every mission trip. Every dollar. It all goes back to helping the children.
Today, we are helping provide a daily meal to approximately 737 children across five schools, plus another 36 children in Lodwar as we work toward establishing Beloved Destiny Children’s Home.

That is approximately 773 children in our feeding work alone—before we even talk about scholarships, sponsorship, educational enrichment, social work, emergency assistance, and
the many other ways we serve. Those are not just numbers

They are children. So, whether you give financially, serve on our Board, share your professional expertise, join a
committee, help us sort and pack donations, invite us to an event, go on a mission trip, teach pastors on Friday night, follow and share us on social media—or find another way I haven’t even thought of yet—there is a place for you in this story.

Remembering Pastor Crandal Rankins
This month, DDI said goodbye to one of our own, Board Member Pastor Crandal Rankins.
Crandal's impact on DDI reached far beyond the boardroom.
He launched our F.I.R.E. Bible Fellowship in March 2024 and faithfully taught pastors and ministry leaders in Kenya every Saturday morning until his health declined earlier this year.
What he started continues today through a rotation of teachers. He was also instrumental in securing 13 sponsorships and scholarships through his fraternity relationships.

Every person who showed up became part of something bigger.
The event brought mission supporters together around Kenya Mission Wear, handmade pieces, fellowship, raffles, and a silent auction — creating a joyful space where fashion could help fuel a greater purpose.
