The Perry Startup Summit is a free, two-day, conference-style event designed for entrepreneurs ready to start, grow, or scale a business. Sessions will cover funding, AI basics, pitch practice, and include a working lunch with local experts.
The Perry Startup Summit takes place February 19-20, 2026.

The City of Perry invites the community to attend a public meeting to learn more about the EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant for the former Stanley Assemblage Site.
The meeting will be presented by PPM Consultants and will include an overview of the project and an opportunity for public input.

Time: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Perry City Hall (808 Carroll Street)
Note: The meeting will take place in the Economic Development Conference Room.

Perry Fire Welcomes Engine 2 With Push-In Ceremony
Perry Fire and Emergency Services proudly placed Engine 2 into service during a traditional push-in ceremony at Station 2.
The event celebrated a major investment in public safety, honored the long-standing fire service tradition, and recognized the support of Mayor, Council, and City leadership who made this new apparatus possible.
Engine 2 replaces a 2014 engine and will serve as the first-response unit for the areas served by Station 2, equipped with updated safety features and technology designed to better protect both responders and the community.

Capital Improvement Projects at Rozar Park Soccer Fields
Capital improvements at Rozar Park are nearing completion, bringing enhanced recreational opportunities to better serve the community.
The upgrades strengthen park infrastructure and expand amenities to support youth sports, family activities, and long-term use. A key improvement includes the addition of two new U10 soccer fields built to youth soccer standards.
Once complete, these fields will increase availability for leagues and further establish Rozar Park as a hub for youth athletics.

2025 Perry Fire & Emergency Services Stats
In 2025, Perry Fire & Emergency Services answered 3,881 calls, conducted hundreds of inspections and plan reviews, and dedicated more than 12,000 hours to training - all while maintaining an average response time of just over six minutes.
Thank you to our firefighters and staff for their commitment to protecting our community every day and for the professionalism, preparedness, and service that help keep Perry safe year-round.

Gardening with the Masters Spring Series
The University of Georgia Houston County Extension Office will host a four-part gardening class series each Tuesday in March at 5:30 p.m.
March 10: Starting Seeds for Your Garden
March 17: Create Garden Gold by Composting
March 24: Grow Your Own Herbs
March 31: Enjoy Fresh Veggies in Your Home Garden
Classes cover seed starting, composting, herbs, and growing fresh vegetables. Each session is $15 and open to anyone interested.
Classes will be held at the Houston Extension Office Pavilion and Hafley Park. To register, please call 478-987-2028.
