Be Still!!! 9/22/24

Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

¹⁰  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)

⁹  A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

NONE of us know what tomorrow holds???? Nor do we know what the rest of our day entails?????

As Solomon wrote, man DEVISEST his way, BUT the Lord DIRECTETH his steps!!

WE plan/DEVISE our futures, acquiring retirement hopes and plans AND we are wise to do so-BUT.......

Luke 12:19-21 (KJV)

¹⁹  And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

²⁰  But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

²¹  So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

This is NOT meant to be a negative-just the facts, ma'am.

I constantly harp/preach on Jesus Words:

³⁴  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

When I, PERSONALLY, think and dwell on the “what-ifs” of tomorrow, I too often draw a blank. I DO NOT KNOW what I will do if and when............................

BUT, I DO know one thing-GOD HAS A PLAN!!!

God, IN DEED, has a “thought/PLAN” for the “what-ifs” in our lives!!!!!!!!!!!

²⁴  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

I am now 73 years old-who would have dreamed to live so long???????

I once had a PLAN for my old age-how I would survive and support myself................

SMILE-None of it has happened according to my “plan.”

And that gives me even more HOPE for the future!!!!

My job, OUR job is simply to:

What do you mean be still????

WE HATE BEING STILL!!! WE feel like if every moment of our day is not spent is “useful” toil the day is wasted!!!

WE rush into battles before allowing God to go before us!!!

In Jesus' “closing argument,” Jesus' FINAL Words of admonition and encouragement, HE said to His remaining disciples:

⁴⁹  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

He instructed them to “TARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Jesus instructed them (and us) to “SIT DOWN!!” UNTIL......................

YE/YOU-ME AND YOU........................................

BE ENDUED WITH POWER FROM ON HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE want to attack Hell armed only with a small water gun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, many of us-MANY-do not want to hear this word today:
