UHS Pharmacy Now Has OTC COVID Tests
- The UHS Pharmacy is now selling Flowflex COVID-19 Antigen Home Test for $7 each. Available to UC Berkeley students, staff, and faculty.
When it comes to badges, blue is the new green!
- For faculty, staff, and students who are up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccines, surveillance testing will no longer be required. This change is underway and is being rolled out in batches with the change reflected on the eTang testing badge by Friday, March 4. The blue testing badge is the same as a green badge and should be accepted at locations that have been authorized to check badges.
Don’t get an enrollment hold! Upload your booster records to eTang.
- Students who are booster eligible and overdue will get an enrollment hold beginning Tuesday, March 1, 2022, that will apply to Spring 2022 and beyond. If you tested positive within the last 90 days, you should upload a copy of your positive test results to eTang and send a message to the COVID-19 Response Team to get an automatic 90-day deferral from the booster requirement. If you believe that you have complied or are in the process of complying with the booster requirement, please log into eTang and check for any errors (such as a missing vaccination record or incorrect entry of vaccination dates).
Face covering requirements change on March 7
- For anyone who is not fully vaccinated, masks will continue to be required indoors on and after March 7. Read more >
Awaiting COVID test results or tested positive?
- Our guidance has changed. Check out the new information about what to do if you are awaiting test results or if you've tested positive for COVID-19.

Sleep Tips for UC Berkeley Students
To improve the quality of your sleep, try these slumber-friendly techniques:
-
Stick to a sleep schedule - Go to bed and wake up at the same time every night and day, including weekends.
-
Wind down to sleep - Develop a relaxing, nightly wind-down routine such as reading, listening to music, light stretching, deep breathing, or taking a bath.
-
Create a restful environment - Create an environment conducive to sleep -- quiet, dark, comfortable.
-
Separate work from bed - Do not use bedtime to do work.
-
Include physical activity in your daily routine - Get regular exercise during the day.
-
Avoid stimulants - Avoid caffeine or nicotine several hours before bedtime.
-
Pay attention to what you eat and drink - Do not over- or under-eat before bedtime.
-
Avoid alcohol- Do not consume alcohol before bedtime (it can lead to disrupted sleep).
-
Limit daytime naps - Avoid naps unless you have no problem sleeping at night.
-
Check your medication - Ask your physician if any of your prescribed medication causes sleep disruption.
-
Mindfulness - Try relaxing each muscle from your toes to your head or think of a repetitive mental routine such as counting sheep!
-
Remove the pressure - If you cannot get to sleep, get up and do something relaxing.
If, after one to two weeks, you do not see improvement, consult your doctor. Your physician can explore physical or emotional causes and prescribe treatment accordingly to alleviate your sleeplessness.
During National Sleep Awareness Week (3/14 - 3/20) we will be posting sleep tips and more on our Instagram page. We will also have a sleep kit giveaway!
