Be Ye Thankful!!! 11/23/22
Colossians 3:15 (KJV)
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
“BE YE THANKFUL!!!”
I begin today's message with phrases from two popular songs-one in which I take “poetic license” and modify:
The “TRAFFIC”outside is frightful!!! And so begins the holiday madness.
The other is from Mr Rogers:
“ITS A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!”
It is a BEAUTIFUL day here in McDonough, GA. I have my doors open as I enjoy the lingering and waning days of sunshine and WARMTH!!!!!!!!
I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!
BUT, I AM thankful.
Soon enough I will chop up the onions and celery for good, old-fashioned dressing for the Popeye's fried turkey, ham, and all the FIXIN'S for tomorrows celebration with family and friends-I PRAY you and yours have a happy Tday also!!!!
This is my only FAVORITE holiday of the year.
There is nothing pretentious about THANKSGIVING.
No one seeks any glory and no one expects anything. There is no special honor given or awarded to anyone or any cause except the Lord Jesus Christ.
A simple day set aside to give thanks to the ONE who gave and gives us all things.
I am THANKFUL to my dear wife, who in spite of her being unable to eat a single food she is preparing, gladly “fixes” in for her loved ones.
I am THANKFUL for my amazing little daughter Amanda whom I have had the JOY and PLEASURE of her NEVER leaving my nest-42 years.
I will never be alone until I go home to Jesus.
I am THANKFUL to my dear surviving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, some of who will not be able to be here tomorrow, but they still exist and ALL are SAVED and will greet me in Heaven someday.
And, like many of you, there will be one less soul gathered together with me tomorrow-Wanda's dear mother who passed away early this year.
My PRAYER tomorrow, LORD WILLING!!??, is that all tomorrow's gathering be here for 2024 or better yet-
ALL OF US WILL BE THERE IN HEAVEN WITH JESUS!!!
I was reminded this week of our NEW YEAR PRAYER. Tomorrow will be a good time to retrieve last year's PRAYER and “see what the Lord hath done.”
Malachi 3:16 (KJV)
16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
I am THANKFUL for my own health and wealth.
In spite of the DAILY gloom and doom heaped upon us by the wicked “news” media, I can THANKFULLY declare ALL IS WELL.
I further PRAY to be able to not pay much attention to Washington, D.C and truly TURN MY EYES UPON JESUS!!!
A personal note to myself as well as perhaps you.......................
Perhaps we should read our Bibles BEFORE we turn on the “news” every day..........
Lastly and NOT least for certain, I am THANKFUL for Y-O-U!!!
I have no clue as to how many people “follow” this ministry or how much money is given and by whom.
I simply:

1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
In closing, brethren, there is little or none truth is one leaving any “legacy!!!!”
NOTHING obtained in this life has eternal value-Jesus said:
Matthew 24:35 (KJV)
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
No matter how big we build our Church, obtain riches and honor and degrees, build mansions and plan retirement ALL shall “pass away.”
Beginning NOW, take the next few precious days and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DIET!!
Begin tomorrow with a Snickers Bar for breakfast and let er' rip!!
