Join us in celebrating Fair Housing Month!

Fair Housing Month is observed each April to commemorate the landmark 1968 Fair Housing Act that prohibits discrimination in housing. It signifies a recommitment to advancing equitable opportunities and expanding homeownership.

During April, the Vail Board of REALTORS®, Colorado Association of REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS® will host programming and share resources with members.

A few offer CE credits to Colorado brokers. Please see the schedule of events below.

Join NAR to commemorate the anniversaries of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974. You’ll explore the continued importance of these landmark laws and celebrate the 2024 Fair Housing Champion Award winners, who are overcoming obstacles to homeownership in their businesses and communities.

Hosted in the VBR classroom with a light breakfast. Presented by Bob Howe of Title Company of the Rockies.

FREE for all VBR members (not just Realtors® & Appraisers).

This class covers the Federal Fair Housing Act, including what property types are covered, appropriate advertising and marketing efforts, state and federal laws and enforcement, and the National Association of REALTORS® ACT! program.

FAIRHAVEN TRAINING

Brokers can show a commitment to Fair Housing by completing the National Association of REALTORS®' Fairhaven training. It's simulation training for REALTORS® and Association staff that uses the power of storytelling to help members identify, prevent, and address discriminatory practices in real estate.
