L'Dor Va-Dor will be celebrating this special ANNUAL Shabbat with hundreds of synagogues across North America, promoting Judaism and the celebration of this wonderful weekly holiday to all, especially those who have drifted away or have never experienced Shabbat! So ... if you have friends, family, neighbors who do not know about Shabbat or Cosmic Judaism or rational Judaism, PLEASE INVITE or BRING THEM to our Shabbat in Delray Beach on March 1 at 7 pm! AND let's together turn an otherwise ordinary Friday evening into a truly spectacular and extraordinary one! In this talk Dr. Berkowitz will provide a sweeping analysis of the historic, symbolic and political significance of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising (April – May 1943). He will contrast this event with another well known historic parallel, the heroic last stand by Jews against the overwhelmingly superior military forces of Rome, the siege of Masada (73-74 CE). Dr. Berkowitz will underscore the legacy, inspiration and contemporaneous relevance of the “resistance” in both instances to the moral imperative of rising above fear and intimidation and pushing back against escalating Jew-hatred with the same courage, leadership, passion and defiance as the Ghetto fighters.

The Rothschild family had lived in Frankfurt’s Jewish ghetto for 400 years. They earned their living by selling goods on the back of a donkey. By the mid-1800s they likely were the wealthiest family on the planet. Their enormous wealth enabled them to impact major events throughout Europe and the Middle East, including funding Wellington’s army against Napoleon, Britain’s abolition of slavery, control of the Suez Canal, and the railways in Austria and Germany.

The tradition of street painting traced back to 16th century Italy when itinerant artists would use their chalks to transform pavement into a makeshift canvas, street painting has retained its appeal through the centuries. As in ages past, crowds gather to watch as fine works of art emerge. The “paintings” last only until the next rain, but the lively spirit and accessibility of the exhibition captivates audiences and inspires lasting memories. It was very special to have Rabbi Barry with us in person for this past Friday Shabbat! We were so happy to see so many of our Members, Friends and Guests there for our "return" to the venue in Delray Beach! This upcoming Friday evening, March 1st, will be SHABBAT ACROSS AMERICA and we wish ALL to invite your friends and neighbors to join with us for this wonderful time, when we turn an ordinary Friday evening into a spectacular one for Shabbat! We will also have a very special conversion to Judaism of our good friend and member Bill Field! So please don't miss this!
Also, if you missed Marcy Weiss and her wonderful Mindfulness program, please view the recording on our YouTube channel and any other programs or Shabbats you may have missed seeing. We are excited about another special program upcoming on Sunday, March 3 at 7 pm to be presented by Howard Bernstein about Law for the Layman on Zoom.
We are also planning a Pre-Passover Seder for the congregation and will have more details about date, time, and venue soon and hope you will be a part of this special time with us!
