Dear Church Family,
As you know, another man of color, George Floyd, died at the hands of police and our cities are in turmoil. Racism continues to be a systemic issue in our nation. Pentecost, which we observed Sunday, reminds us that God has a different vision for the world, where people of all nations, races, languages were to be united by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The church is to be a witness to the world of a counter cultural way of living but far too often the church aligns itself with power. I want to encourage all of us to do the hard work of justice and reconciliation. That begins with repentance. Racism is a sin and all sin is dealt with by repentance. Then we need to listen to our friends of color and hear their story. We need to be Christ-like in all our relationships. Finally, we need to stand against all forms of violence. Let’s be praying in the days that God will give us the courage to be agents of change.

This week, we start a new Series called
What’s Your Number? As disciples, we are to be focused on loving God and loving others as ourselves. How we each go about doing that will look different because we were each created uniquely, on purpose with differing personalities. We will be looking at the Enneagram system of personality typing through a 9-week sermon series called,
What’s Your Number?
Your pastors and church staff have already completed this and are discovering new and meaningful insights about themselves and each other! We believe that trying to discern where you land and considering how growing in this kind of self-awareness will help you with the relationships in your life and in the ministry to which you were called. The links to take a free or paid test are here
This week we look at type 1 The Reformer. The Bible Reading Plan is
here
. You can pick up a copy this Sunday in the Connections Center or Narthex. You can also print it out

This Sunday, Mark Rowland will be speaking in all the services except the 11C which will be Pastor Jonathan Kollmann.
