Revised 12/8/2020

School Messenger dated 12/11/20

Attached you will find the updated CDC and Florida Department of Health guidelines for Quarantine. There are a couple of items we wanted to highlight:

  1. The testing method of reducing the quarantine does not allow for a rapid antigen test only a PCR test will qualify.
  2. A PCR test does take longer to get the results back therefore the testing method may not be the opportunity to return back to school quicker since the test has to be taken no earlier than on day 6.
  3. If a student is waiting on a COVID test result, the student should be at home until they receive the results.

Thank you.

Every quarter the Florida Department of Education recognizes two FFEA (Florida Future Educators of America) chapters with the coveted title of Outstanding FFEA Chapter. Creekside’s chapter demonstrated exceptional service in education through community service, fundraising, and recruitment.

Creekside High School, St. Johns County
The Creekside High School FFEA chapter began as a new chapter at the beginning of this year. During the last semester, chapter members have worked diligently to recruit new members and have double their members in the last quarter. In addition, the chapter members have worked to interact and support school faculty and staff members by sponsoring numerous virtual events during Teacher Appreciation Week. Chapter members also conducted 37 virtual teacher interviews from across the United States and Canada to gather various perspectives about the teaching profession. The students are creating a “2020 Teaching Mosaic” to display on the school campus.
