The Aiken Chamber’s annual award-winning arts and crafts show is just around the corner, and the excitement is building for September 9 and 10. Aiken’s Makin’ turns 46 this year with a refined look and an enhanced focus on shopability.
“We listened to what vendors and attendees had to say last year, and we are keeping our expanded, COVID friendly layout from 2021,” said Aiken’s Makin’ co-chair John McMichael, Anderson Insurance Associates, LLC, who is now in his tenth year of chairing the event.
The wider, more spacious layout will allow shoppers and vendors more room to safely enjoy the show. Guests will enjoy shopping from well-spaced booths in the closed street and under the canopy of trees in the parkways along Park Avenue from Chesterfield to Union streets.
“We always appreciate feedback from others because it helps us add amenities and keep enhancing the popular show,” said Aiken’s Makin’ Co-chair Amber Davis, Long Term Liaisons, LLC, who is now in her fifth year of chairing the event.
This year’s juried show will feature 172 artists and crafters, including 62 new ones, and 18 food vendors, of which six are new.
“We will definitely have a variety of arts and crafts, and plenty of food choices. I’m confident there will be something for almost everyone’s taste and style,” said Dianne Phillips, the Aiken Chamber’s coordinator of Aiken’s Makin’.
