Concerned about Sharia Law coming to NC?

The threat of Sharia Law spreading in the United States is great - and the media is not reporting the rapid advance of Islam in our country. This is something we all need to know more about - read what's happening in the U.S. here.

Come to a FREE panel discussion from the Patriot Academy on this issue! It's hosted by the Moore County GOP:

May 7

1:00 - 3:30 p.m.

GOP HQ (Olmsted Shopping Center)

The panel promises to be extremely informative and eye-opening. Come to Think Tank at 11:00 am and stay for the panel discussion. Bring your lunch!

Election integrity project continues

Volunteers needed to help

Many thanks to those of you who participated in the election integrity project to ensure Moore County's voter lists are up to date and "clean." Much was accomplished - but much still remains to be done.

Annette Miller, volunteer coordinator, will be at the GOP HQ (211 Central Park Avenue, Pinehurst) on April 15 and 17 from 9 am - 2 pm to share information on the project and provide packets with everything you need to do some volunteering at home. You are cordially invited to talk with her and get more information.

Future envelope addressing sessions are planned after the letters are completed.

If you want to do something easy on your own time to help "true the vote" in Moore County, this is a great opportunity!

P.S. Stamps are always welcome, if you can drop off a book or two at the HQ.

MRW in the community

MRW is a big winner in NFRW Awards

Yet more reason to be proud of your Club: The National Federation of Republican Women has announced the winners of its volunteer hours awards - and Moore Republican Women had the most volunteer hours donated in the 1st Period (July 1 - Dec 31, 2025) of all the states!

Thank you, Mariann Benway, our Chair for Volunteer Hours, for keeping track of our many members' many hours.

See all the NFRW Volunteer Hour Award Winners here.

Adopt-A-Highway clean up

Many thanks to the volunteers who cleaned up the trash along Airport Road, as we fulfill our commitment to the Adopt-a-Highway program: (l to r: Mitzi Sokolowski Mya Bibey, Pilar Page, Lisa Kirchner and Pauline Bruno).

It only took us about an hour and we felt GOOD about picking up the litter and keeping our community beautiful!

Next pick-up will be this summer.

What do volunteers do at the GOP HQ?

We've had questions about the duties of volunteers at the GOP HQ. Here's a quick synopsis:

  • Greet and help walk-Ins/visitors
  • Answer voter registration questions
  • Explain where and how to vote
  • Talk about what’s on the ballot and provide sample ballots
  • Assist those wanting to pick up yard signs
  • Assist with taking donations for hats, pins, stickers, etc.
  • Provide applications to join Men and Women’s Republican organizations in Moore County
  • Familiarize yourself with flyers posted on the bulletin board to assist with questions concerning upcoming events
  • Familiarize yourself with literature available for visitors and assist them with review and pick up
  • Open and close HQ

It's a rewarding experience where you meet people, exchange stories and sometimes see our NC politicians.

Mary Bernel, an MRW member, is in charge of scheduling and provides thorough training. You can schedule dates that are convenient for you. This is an important year - you'll be able to assist all those who need help voting in the mid-terms!

For more information or to volunteer, contact Mary.

April luncheon highlights

At our April luncheon, our guest speaker was Kyshia Brassington, North Carolina's representative to the Republican National Committee. Kyshia stressed the importance of having women run for office and challenge the liberal urban Democrat women who have triumphed in their candidacies. She also told us about the Women's Leadership Initiative which she founded to encourage women to get involved in politics. And she shared insights into how it will be the grassroots campaigns (i.e., clubs like MRW) that will take US Senate candidate Michael Whatley over the finish line over Roy Cooper, rather than the RNC, which is focused on election integrity. So...get ready to rumble!

Ways & Means fundraising numbers:

  • Easter basket: $270, won by Patsy Peele. Thanks to Jeanne Harrington for selling tickets.
  • 50/50 raffle: $190; Janet Delgrazzio won $95. Thanks to Betsy Miller for selling tickets
  • Bling+: $178.05

Thank you to everyone who purchased items! The money collected helps MRW with our many projects.

Mariann Benway also sent a note to us thanking everyone for helping her celebrate her 80th birthday at the luncheon!

Become one of our MRW Regents

America reads the Bible

When was the last time a nation read the Bible aloud together?

America will gather for this very moment, and you’re invited to be part of it!

From April 18–25 in Washington, D.C., faith leaders from across the country will proclaim God’s Word continuously, from Genesis to Revelation. To celebrate America's 250th birthday, more than 100 ministries and 450 national leaders will read the Good Book for seven straight days as a call to lead America back to the Bible.

You don't have to travel to DC to be part of this. If you want to listen in a livestream from home, you can sign up here.
