Carlis Dansberger Retires after 23 Years with SEC
In May 2000, Carlis Dansberger came to SEC wanting a more challenging job and she was hired into the Human Resources Department. Thrilled to be offered a role in the HR Department, Carlis did not even ask what the salary was until after she accepted the position! She has been at SEC ever since.
What has been the most rewarding part of working for SEC?
The most rewarding part has been building relationships with my fellow employees. HR is privy not only to the work-related area of employees’ lives, but also their life events like weddings, births, serious illnesses, etc. I’ve been blessed to have them there for the good and bad in my life as well.
What advice would you give to a younger person coming into the cooperative world?
If you hang in there for the long haul, you won’t have a job; you’ll have a career. SEC has allowed me to grow and provided the means for me to retire.
What plans do you have once you retire?
The first thing will be to go through our house and purge! Carlis and her husband of 25 years, Paul, like to spend time at the beach. They plan to travel, explore new places and spend time with family. They both enjoy time spent with Paul’s daughter, Stephanie, her husband, Chipper, and their two daughters: Charlotte, 9, and Edie, 4, The girls were born on the same day in September.
