June 9, 2021

Greetings!

The Coalition is proud to be a lead collaborator once again with the Massachusetts Commission on Unaccompanied Homeless Youth for the annual Massachusetts Youth Count. The Massachusetts Youth Count, also known as YOUth Count, mobilizes youth, young adults, youth providers funded by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, Continua of Care, schools, and other community partners to survey young people under the age of 25 from all across the Commonwealth who are experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Youth Count provides opportunities for young people to utilize their leadership skills in planning and administering the count, and for participants to connect to resources and services. The insights and data gathered from the survey process are used to influence advocacy and programming to address youth and young adult homelessness.

After having to cancel last spring’s Youth Count due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited for YOUth Count 2021, which has been extended until next Friday, June 18th.

We have been busy getting the word out with youth, young adults, and youth service providers, and now we want to make sure as many young people as possible have the chance to participate. Please help us get the word out during this final push for Youth Count 2021 by sharing this updated flyer (PDF) or the link to the flyer: tinyurl.com/yc21flyer6-9

While the survey itself is confidential and anonymous, young people under 25 from Massachusetts who complete the survey are given a separate link to share their contact information so we can send them $10 via Cash App or Venmo in compensation for their time.

We also invite you to follow the Massachusetts Youth Count on social media: @MAYouthCount on Instagram, the MA Youth Count Facebook page, and @MAYouthCount on Twitter.

With gratitude,

Kelly Turley
Associate Director
