Coral Gables Gains a Seat on the TPO

On July 20, the City of Coral Gables obtained a seat on the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). At this meeting, the TPO approved a resolution that allowed inter-decennial census membership on the TPO for municipalities that obtained a population greater than 50,000 between decennial census, therefore qualifying Coral Gables. The TPO meets monthly to guide the transportation planning process and to provide mobility options within Miami-Dade County.  Geographically, Coral Gables is in a centralized location and receives a high volume of traffic flow on a daily basis. It is estimated that in 20 years more than 690,000 vehicles will travel through Coral Gables on a daily basis.
