District 196 swim lesson participants, we miss you, and we hope you are all doing well and are able to adjust to these uncertain times. We are monitoring the situation as it relates to our swimming programs and will let you know when decisions are made about our summer programming. May is Water Safety Month and we want to ensure that every member of your family becomes water competent. This means being water smart, having swimming skills and knowing how to help others. Children and adults should learn to swim so they can be able to enter the water, get a breath, stay afloat, change position, swim a distance and then get out of the water safely.

Parents, start off by taking this free online class, Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers, offered by American Red Cross.
In the meantime, do your kids enjoy adventure? Check out Pick a Path Adventure by Email (ages 9-14) Online! Their choices determine the outcome! Register by Friday, May 15 and the Story Master will begin your child's adventure. This is a read and respond activity. The Story Master will let you know when you've reached the end of your adventure by a telltale, THE END.
Parents ... learn something new and do something for you. Get connected!
Try a live online class! They take place in real-time with our personable, expert instructors. Have fun and enjoy learning with the other participants (You may even want to invite your out-of-town friends and family to take a class with you). You will need reliable internet access on a computer, tablet or phone. Two days prior to the class, you will receive an email containing easy instructions to sign into the course. Our goal is to engage, enrich and inspire you! The sky’s the limit.
