Self Advocates for a Brighter Future
watched videos about why we vote and reviewed other resources about voting for people with diversabilities. These resources can be found on UBC's new website:
I Am Voting: BC Election 2017. In April's self-advocacy meeting they will be holding a mock election so we have practice with the voting process!

BC Disability Rate Increase
As of April 1, 2017, disability assistance rates rose by $50 per month, or an annual total of $600. This increase means a single person with the PWD designation will receive $1,033 per month in disability assistance, up from $983. A couple in which both are PWDs will receive an additional $100 per month, for a total of $1,773
|

2017 Inclusion BC Conference
|
|
The 2017 Inclusion BC Conference is taking place June 14th-17th 2017 in Richmond BC. The conference will consist of presentations, social events, and conversations all centred around this year's theme, "Inspired by Love".

Operation Trackshoes
Team Trailblazers will be out in abundance at this year's Operation Trackshoes!
Held from June 9th to 11th at the University of Victoria. Watch athletes compete in 30 different events ranging from competitive track and field to family picnic style games.
Banquets and dancing allow the athletes to mingle after a long day of competition.

Registered Disability Savings Plan Information Session
Assante Financial Management is holding a free informational seminar about the registered disability savings plans and all the government grants that are out there for people with disabilities. The seminar will be held on April 5th 2017 from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Victoria Citadel Hall.

Disability Pride 2017
Canada turns 150 this year and with it is Disability Pride 2017! There are grants available to celebrate, march, and demonstrate your disability pride! Visit

Save the Date for One Day 2017!

One Day 2017 is scheduled for Saturday September 16th!
Join us for a day of fun in the community. One Day features live music, accessible games and activities, Kids Zone, face painting, a low cost BBQ and more! The One Day Marketplace is also a great opportunity to sell your hand crafted items.

2017 Challenger Baseball Season

BeConnected is a proud sponsor of Hampton's Challenger Baseball Team! The Challenger Division provides children, youth, and young adults the opportunity to play baseball on a team, in a uniform, in their community. The game is modified so everyone can participate and everyone is a winner. The season starts this Saturday! Let's play ball!
