RE-FORMING OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, WITH THE EARTH, & WITH EACH OTHER

Peace to you,
Over the past month, we have enjoyed the annual Garden Party, Christmas in July Vespers led by teaching faculty, "Copperstock" music festival (until the rain began to pour down!), art classes including jewelry making, watercolor, and silk painting, and kids playing baseball on the Village Green at golden hour. Clear skies allowed for night sky hikes with the Naturalist, Narnia kids stopped by Garbo Dome to learn about composting, and teaching faculty led sessions and concerts.
We hope you enjoy these stories and images from the past month at Holden!

THE ARTS
Staff member
Willie Brakke
spruced up the Village Center basement bathroom with this beautiful mural that he created overnight with stencils and spray paint. The spray paint fumes, of course, set off the fire alarm system, but the stunning new nature scene was well worth it!

EVENTS
Do you think a lot about the concept of wellness? Have you ever felt overwhelmed by things like current events, politics, the complexity of justice issues, and doing what’s “right”? These are questions that plague many, and all-too-often we try to answer them “in our heads.” But our heads are only part of our whole person, and only offer part of a sustainable answer. We offer this weekend retreat as an opportunity to engage in various embodied practices that include modalities such as yoga, movement, and meditation. We invite participants to spend time with their bodies, to practice mindfulness, and to practice whole-person wellness in the wilderness of the North Cascades. Please
join us for this weekend of movement and meditation open to any and all levels of experience.

SUPPORT HOLDEN VILLAGE
YOUR ONGOING STEWARDSHIP SUSTAINS THIS PLACE OF EDUCATION AND RENEWAL FOR ALL PEOPLE
This year, Holden Village has again been filled with the spirit that has carried this place apart for decades. Music, laughter, and community fill the Village, as well as thought-provoking conversations led by renowned teaching faculty from around the world. Thousands of guests come to experience the rhythms of the Village each year. It is our hope that Holden Village may continue as a place for civil conversation, for learning to listen deeply to one another, and for finding hope in a fearful world.
Registration fees do not fully cover the cost of maintaining a Village community of learning, worship, hospitality, and celebration.
Your generous gifts ensure engaging summer conversations. Your gift will set us on firm financial footing for this summer's programming and beyond and
help ensure that our rhythms remain for generations to come!

BLESSING
Time is
Too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice.
But for those who love,
Time is eternity.
Hours fly, flowers die,
New days, new ways pass by,
Love stays.
